About the client
The client specializes in digital solutions that optimize vehicle damage processing for insurance companies, car dealerships, repair shops, leasing firms, and automotive manufacturers. It processes over 18 million vehicle claims annually and operates in more than 30 countries.
Responsibilities
•Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using C#/.NET
•Build scalable solutions based on microservices architecture
•Develop and integrate backend modules and services within complex distributed systems
•Design and maintain integrations between internal and external systems
•Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including SQL Server and MongoDB
•Implement asynchronous processing and messaging using RabbitMQ and Hangfire
•Write clean, maintainable, scalable, and well-tested code following SOLID principles and engineering best practices
•Develop and maintain unit and integration tests, following Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices where applicable
•Troubleshoot backend issues and improve system reliability and performance
•Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and support automated build, testing, and deployment processes
•Work with containerized and cloud-based environments, including the strategic migration to AWS
•Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and other team members to achieve sprint goals
•Participate in Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, refinements, sprint planning, and retrospectives
•Estimate development tasks and contribute to realistic sprint planning
•Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge sharing
Requirements
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
•4+ years of commercial backend development experience with C#/.NET
•Strong knowledge of the Microsoft development stack, particularly C#/.NET and SQL Server
•Practical experience designing and developing REST APIs and backend services
•Experience working with microservices or distributed systems
•Good understanding of software design principles, including SOLID, clean code, and maintainable architecture
•Experience with unit and integration testing
•Experience working with relational databases
•Understanding of messaging and asynchronous processing concepts
•Experience with Git and CI/CD processes
•Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
•Proactive, self-organized approach to problem solving
•Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within an agile engineering team
•Willingness to contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English or German
Nice to have
•Knowledge of NoSQL databases
•Experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud-native development
•AWS experience
