Responsibilities
•Run pre-training, post-training, and deployment of state-of-the-art models on clusters with thousands of GPUs
•Generate and curate datasets of tables, spreadsheets, and databases, and build evaluators and benchmarks for table understanding, text-to-SQL, and prediction on tabular data
•Develop tools and frameworks for data generation, model training, evaluation, and deployment
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex use cases
•Manage research projects and communications with client research teams
Requirements
•Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
•Have expert-level experience with PyTorch or JAX
•Have experience training or fine-tuning large language models or tabular foundation models
•Have a strong machine learning background in tabular data, including classical baselines such as gradient boosting, and be comfortable with SQL, pandas, and messy real-world data
•Navigate large codebases independently with little guidance
•Write clean, readable, high-performance, fault-tolerant Python code
•Work independently and navigate uncertainty confidently
•Be collaborative, low-ego, and eager to learn
•Have a track record of success through personal projects, professional projects, or academia
Nice to have
•Experience as a founder or builder
•A PhD or Master's in Computer Science, Statistics, or Machine Learning
•Experience with text-to-SQL, table question answering, or spreadsheet agents
•Experience with reinforcement learning using verifiable rewards
•Experience working on large codebases or large machine learning models at scale
•Contributions to a large open-source or industry codebase
•Publications in top academic journals or conferences
•Interest in improving existing code through typing, tests, and CI pipelines
