Runway East

Marketing Executive (12-month fixed-term contract)

In short

A 12-month fixed-term marketing role at Runway East, a B Corp running flexible workspaces across several UK cities, aimed at someone starting out in marketing. You'll support a three-person senior marketing team across brand, content, social media and new-site launches, with a hybrid schedule and a £1,500 development budget. It requires strong writing, organisation, an eye for design, comfort with AI tools, and some prior marketing-adjacent experience.

About the company
Runway East runs flexible workspaces in London, Bristol, Bath, Birmingham and Brighton for teams of 1 to 100. Since 2014 the company has aimed to "destroy boring offices." It is a B Corp, has opened three new sites this year, with more on the way.
The job
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract in the marketing team (with the mutual option of one 6-month extension), aimed at someone looking for their first role in marketing. You'll assist the experienced marketing team as they launch new buildings, build the brand, and have fun doing it. You'll get experience across every aspect of marketing - from brand to growth, asset creation to social media management - and up to £1,500 to support your professional development during your contract, as a spring board into your next marketing role.
A note on why this is a fixed-term role: the marketing team is three senior marketers, so there isn't a mid-level role to step into afterwards. This is designed as a year of broad, hands-on experience for someone who sees it as a springboard rather than a destination, whether starting out or changing career.
Responsibilities
•A bit of everything - helping senior marketers when they need assistance - that could be tying balloons (carefully) into an actor's hair for a video shoot, researching a new market, or planning the content calendar
•Keeping content up to date - the company has 500+ offices that require up to date collateral - photos, floorplans, 360's - where possible
•Growing the brand - blog posts, scheduling social media calendars, editing newsletters, assisting with content creation, enlisting founders and CEOs from the member base into interviews and more
•Helping fill up new sites - when a new building opens, making sure every digital and physical asset is ready on time
Requirements
•Ambitious - keen to learn and grow into a marketing professional
•Organised and accurate - keeps track of lots of moving parts, spots what's missing and hits deadlines
•A good writer - can write clear, lively copy, can pick up a tone of voice, and pays attention to detail (their tone is relaxed, with a bit of cheek)
•Tech-minded - picks up new tools quickly, has used AI tools for writing or research, and checks their work before it goes anywhere
•An eye for design - doesn't need to be a designer, but knows what good looks like and can explain why something isn't working; Canva, Figma or Adobe experience is a bonus
•Some experience - maybe an internship in marketing, content or operations, freelance work, or a self-built portfolio
•Interested - in life, things, culture, passions, people etc.
Conditions
•Salary: £30,800 a year
•Hybrid: in the office, one day a week remote
•Time off: 31 days including bank holidays, plus birthday off and extra time over Christmas
•Wellbeing: private health and dental insurance, gym discounts, mental health support and a Bike2Work scheme
•Learning: £1,500 upskilling budget, monthly mentoring and learning resources
•Community: two workdays a year for charitable activities, team outings, and an annual team trip (past trips include Barcelona, Rhodes and Vilnius)
•Paid sick days, compassionate leave, enhanced parental leave and life insurance
