NVIDIA

Manager, Systems Software Engineering - GPU

In short

This role leads a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for GSP firmware stability, field debuggability, resiliency, and pre-silicon readiness for upcoming GPU chips at NVIDIA. The manager owns release execution, test coverage metrics, and project delivery while partnering with technical leads who own technical direction. It requires 6+ years of experience including 3+ years in management, a strong systems-software background with hands-on C programming and debugging, driver/firmware/kernel/embedded experience, and a track record of managing incident response with customer exposure.

About the Role
NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for more than 25 years. Today, NVIDIA is tapping into the unlimited potential of AI to define the next era of computing — an era in which GPUs act as the brains of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can understand the world.
This role is pivotal. You will manage the team responsible for maintaining the reliability, robustness, and pre-silicon readiness of GSP firmware. You will ensure flawless execution across our product lines. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and have a passion for modern technology, this is the opportunity for you!
What You'll Be Doing
•Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team that owns GSP firmware stability, field debuggability, and resiliency, along with pre-silicon readiness for upcoming chips, from roadmap and architecture through development and validation.
•Own release execution for GSP firmware across concurrent release trains, dedication tracking, blocker burndown, and go/no-go readiness.
•Partner with the technical leads and architects, who own technical direction while you own team, execution, and delivery.
•Drive measurable improvement in test coverage and stability metrics, reported monthly.
•Coordinate architectural alignment, project scoping, prioritization, and execution accountability, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
•Champion the delivery of robust, high-quality GPU driver software by establishing thorough validation protocols, monitoring key performance indicators, and proactively addressing technical challenges.
What We Need to See
•Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
•6+ overall years of proven experience in related areas with at least 3+ years of management experience
•Strong systems-software background – hands-on C programming, debugging skills, kernel, driver, firmware, or embedded.
•Demonstrated ownership of release processes and quality metrics in a shipping product.
•Experience managing incident and critical issue response with customer exposure.
Ways to Stand Out from the Crowd
•Proven expertise in GPU driver development and validation.
•Experience leading distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones and regions.
•Outstanding leadership skills with a history of successfully implementing complex engineering projects.
•Collaboration and communication skills, able to effectively partner with collaborators at all levels.
•Experience bringing up software on pre-silicon platforms such as simulation or emulation.
