About us
Become part of our ambitious team and work with us towards our vision of remaining a leading partner in e-commerce hosting for online shops and web applications. Behind maxcluster are employees who are passionate about customer-oriented e-commerce hosting. Personal contact is especially important to us, whether with customers or among ourselves. We listen and find solutions – for all concerns, big and small. Together with your future colleagues, you bring your talents to the team, give new impulses and implement our shared goals responsibly.
Your Tasks
•Monitoring architecture & operations: You are responsible for and expand our monitoring infrastructure across multiple locations – with Checkmk and PMM for our databases at the center. You work with the specialist teams to develop monitoring endpoints and performance metrics.
•Automation & processes (IaC): Instead of manual clicks, you roll out monitoring configurations automatically using tools such as Ansible or Salt and continuously optimize our processes.
•Proactive monitoring & gap closing: You integrate new systems into monitoring early on, analyze incidents together with the NOC team, and adjust monitoring so it responds earlier next time.
•Resilient alerting: Based on the monitoring, you define recipient logic and escalation paths together with our process managers. You support the responsible specialists in creating action instructions and emergency documentation.
•Application Performance Monitoring: You drive the further development of our APM and make the resulting insights reliably usable for colleagues in service and development.
•Knowledge transfer & on-call: You anchor your knowledge within the team, share best practices, and after your onboarding, help ensure high platform availability as part of on-call duty.
Your Profile
•Linux expertise & foundation: Several years of practical experience administering Linux servers (ideally Ubuntu/Debian) as well as training as an IT specialist (Fachinformatiker:in), an IT degree, or comparable know-how.
•Monitoring tool stack: Practical experience with at least one common tool (e.g. Checkmk, Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, Icinga, or ELK stack) – you will learn our other tools with us.
•Automation & scripting: Configuration management (e.g. Ansible, Salt, Puppet) and scripting with Bash or Python are part of your daily toolkit.
•Observability mindset: You are interested in how to draw reliable conclusions from metrics, and can reliably distinguish real alerts from background noise.
•Desirable extras: Experience with virtualization (e.g. LXC/LXD) or MySQL monitoring is a plus.
•Way of working & communication: You work in a structured, solution-oriented way, enjoy having your own area of responsibility, and communicate confidently in German (very good) as well as English (in daily work).
