Job Description
Lead Financial Analyst - MT Supply Chain Source Finance – Surgery (WCH, BIO, A&R)
Johnson & Johnson MedTech Supply Chain Source Finance is recruiting a proactive and results-driven Lead Financial Analyst to serve as the Source Finance lead for the Wound Closure & Healing, Biosurgery, and Aesthetics & Reconstruction businesses within Surgery. Together, these businesses represent more than $550 million in annual direct-material spend across a complex global network of materials, suppliers, products, and manufacturing partners.
This is a highly visible role, operating at the intersection of Finance, Procurement, and End-to-End Supply Chain. The Lead Financial Analyst will be the primary Source Finance partner to three distinct businesses, combining strong technical finance and accounting capabilities with strategic business partnership. The individual will provide financial leadership across purchase price variance, standard costing, close, forecasting, supplier contracting arrangements, and investment decisions, while translating complex data into clear recommendations for business leaders.
The role offers significant exposure to senior finance and business leadership, broad cross-functional experience, and the opportunity to influence decisions across established products, new product launches, sourcing strategies, and process transformation.
The successful candidate will operate in an evolving data and systems environment and will have meaningful latitude to simplify processes, improve transparency, and help shape the future of Source Finance within MedTech Supply Chain.
Responsibilities
•Serve as the primary Source Finance lead and strategic thought partner for the global WCH, BIO, and A&R Procurement teams and their respective platform Supply Chain organizations.
•Translate complex financial, supplier, and operational data into clear insights, recommendations, and decision support for Finance, Procurement, and Supply Chain leadership.
•Drive robust forecasting, tracking, and analysis of purchase price variances (i.e. cost improvement projects, market-driven price increases, tariffs, and other raw material surcharges) in close partnership with the Procurement organization.
•Independently lead the month-end close process, including analysis of large datasets, resolution of accounting and business issues, preparation of executive-level commentary, and presentation of results to Source Finance and Supply Chain leadership.
•Provide financial and accounting leadership for complex supplier and commercial arrangements, including consignment, flash-sale, and other nonstandard sourcing models.
•Lead the annual standard-cost-setting process with Procurement and Supply Chain partners across hundreds of suppliers and thousands of individual SKUs, ensuring standards are complete, accurate, supportable, and aligned with applicable policies.
•Partner with the Surgery PMO and business leaders to evaluate and validate financial business cases related to cost savings, new product launches, operating expenses, capital investments, and other strategic initiatives.
•Build trusted partnerships across three distinct stakeholder networks, balancing business priorities while maintaining financial integrity, transparency, and compliance.
•Play an active role in CFIN and Anaplan deployment and full adoption for MTSC, helping shape future-state processes, challenge legacy practices, and identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate work.
•Ensure compliance with applicable accounting requirements and Johnson & Johnson Procurement policies and procedures.
Leadership Traits
•Enterprise Leadership and Influence: Acts as a positive change agent and influences decisions across functions and levels without relying on formal authority.
•Strategic and Technical Judgment: Connects accounting, financial, supplier, and operational considerations to develop practical recommendations for the business.
•Ownership and Accountability: Independently drives high-quality outcomes, identifies risks early, and follows issues through resolution.
•Collaboration and Business Partnership: Builds trusted relationships across Finance, Procurement, and Supply Chain while constructively challenging assumptions where prudent.
•Prioritization and Agility: Effectively balances recurring deliverables, complex analyses, and emerging business needs in a fast-paced environment.
•Continuous Improvement: Challenges the status quo and converts data, process, and systems limitations into opportunities for simplification and better decision-making.
