About us
GAMUCATEX is an indie startup based in Copenhagen with a diverse, global team, focused on weaving history into gaming experiences. The team includes people from the industry, some new and some experienced, and regularly hosts a group of interns.
About our game
Tectonicus is a historical strategy card game combining mechanics of turn-based strategy, auto-battlers, and card games. Players use strategic thinking to place heroes, commanders, and units on the board, and build synergistic decks emphasizing each faction's unique strengths. History cards affect units on the battlefield depending on historical accuracy, letting players destroy anachronisms, buff legendary heroes, weaken historical misconceptions, or reinterpret controversial units. Apart from online and local PvP battles, Tectonicus will feature a full-scale story mode where players restore historical truth by reincarnating significant battles and living through them as warlords across centuries, with choices affecting the premises of each battle and building a unique storyline.
About your department
As a game developer, your primary responsibility is to turn ideas into reality: improving Tectonicus while identifying and fixing bugs. As a game programmer, you will work closely with other departments to incorporate their ideas into the game.
About the job
You will have flexibility to pick tasks from the Trello board that align with your strengths and interests, while being encouraged to challenge yourself with tasks outside your comfort zone. You will work with a multicultural team across various disciplines in Unity to bring this historical card game to life, including interaction with a history department.
Responsibilities
As a game developer: maintain clean code, communicate effectively with other developers, constantly seek opportunities to learn, be proactive in finding ways to improve the game, come up with clever and neat solutions to problems, and collaborate with other departments to build the game.
As a manager, you will have additional duties (training provided):
•Facilitate department meetings and manage the department Trello board
•Ensure effective communication within and across the department
•Supervise check-ins, check-outs, and team attendance
•Oversee quality assurance and maintain task deadlines
•Promote a creative and inclusive environment

Initiative to help with collaborative projects, such as applying for funding and setting up events to showcase the game, is a plus.
