# Java Sustaining Engineer (JavaFX)
Location: Almaty, Kazakhstan; onsite or remote work available

What you will do
•Track changes in OpenJDK and other relevant open-source projects.
•Maintain source repositories and apply or adapt fixes from OpenJDK and related projects.
•Fix bugs and support Core Libraries, AWT, Swing, and JavaFX components.
•Develop and release Core Libraries and JavaFX components.
•Backport relevant OpenJDK fixes to prior releases and custom JDK versions.
•Resolve, implement, test, and deploy fixes and workarounds for production and development issues.
Requirements
•BS/BA in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.
•Relevant experience as a Java Developer, QA Engineer, Sustaining Engineer, or UI Developer.
•At least 2 years of Java development experience, preferably focused on enterprise applications.
•Experience with Core Java API and at least one of AWT, Swing, or JavaFX.
•Experience with Git or Mercurial.
•Basic experience with Linux and Bash.
•Intermediate English level or higher.
Nice to have
•Oracle Java SE certificate.
