About the Company
Greentube Group is a B2B iGaming platform provider that delivers solutions to gaming operators worldwide. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the NOVOMATIC Group, a producer and operator of gaming technologies and an integrated gaming company.
Responsibilities
•Design and develop scalable Java backend services focused on performance and reliability
•Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices for high-traffic gaming operations
•Work with PostgreSQL and SQL Server, writing and tuning queries for production workloads
•Implement error handling, logging, and monitoring across distributed systems
•Collaborate with frontend and DevOps teams on integration and deployment
•Troubleshoot and debug backend services, and support observability with tools such as Prometheus
•Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies
•Participate in code reviews and document systems during knowledge transfer to the team
Requirements
•3–5 years of hands-on backend development experience, primarily in Java
•Strong understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, and distributed systems
•Experience building and maintaining production-grade backend services
•Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and SQL optimization
•Knowledge of asynchronous processing, messaging systems, and event-driven architecture
•Comfortable working with inherited code and limited documentation, and willing to bring structure to it
•Ownership mentality for delivered work and a pragmatic problem-solving approach
•Clear communicator who works well with the wider team
•Ready to contribute to architectural decisions and grow architectural judgment alongside the system architect
•Fluent in English
Nice to Have
•Serbian language skills
•Experience with containerization and cloud platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS or Azure)
•Hands-on experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ
•Caching strategies and database optimization techniques
•Background in gaming, iGaming, or other high-traffic systems
•German language skills
