Job Title
Internal Audit Manager
Job Description
So, who are we?
IG Group is a FTSE 100 fintech operating across five continents, serving over 1.4m customers and handling billions of dollars in transactions – built on scale, trust, and proof. We didn't pivot to innovation; it's how we've always operated. What that means for the people who work here is real: genuinely complex problems to solve, the technology and resources to tackle them properly, and the kind of scope that's rare in established businesses.
The bar is high – bring a curious and forward-thinking mindset and we'll give you the platform to define what comes next.
Join us at IG – the future gets built here.
Your Team:
IG is a global trading business, regulated in multiple jurisdictions, and it moves fast. Internal Audit needs an experienced manager who wants to dig into the hard questions. You will lead complex audits across IG's regulated Global entities, with a focus on regulatory, non-financial and operational risks.
Your role in the Team's Success:
You will report to the Head of Internal Audit (UK, APAC and Middle East) and work with a growing team, co-source partners and subject matter experts. You will own the quality of each audit you lead, from scoping through to the final report. You will also feed into and support delivery of the Internal Audit strategy. Line management responsibility will follow as the team grows.
What you'll do:
Audit delivery
•Lead end-to-end delivery of complex, global audits, from planning, through fieldwork to reporting, within agreed timelines, to IG's methodology and IIA standards.
•Manage a portfolio of audits, tracking progress, resourcing and risks to delivery, and escalating issues to the Head of Audit early.
•Oversee the quality and consistency of work across the portfolio, reviewing the work of auditors and co-source teams so that reports meet IG's standards before they are issued.
•Direct co-source partners and subject matter experts, setting clear scope and challenging their work so the output is high quality, risk-focused and commercially sensible.
•Write clear, well-evidenced findings and reports, agreeing practical actions with management.
Partnering with the business
•Work alongside senior leaders in the first and second lines as a trusted partner. Understand their objectives, give honest and constructive insight, and support real improvements to how IG manages risk and serves clients.
Planning and risk assessment
•Contribute to the annual audit plan and risk assessment, particularly for regulatory, non-financial and operational risk topics.
•Track regulatory change and industry events (for example FCA, MiFID, MAR, AML requirements and the expectations of IG's other regulators), and assess what they mean for audit coverage.
Governance and reporting
•Prepare papers for entity boards and committees, including the Audit Committee where required, drawing out themes across audits and giving independent insight. Present them where needed.
•Follow up issues and actions, challenging evidence before closure, and report progress and overdue items accurately.
Innovation and continuous improvement
•Help the function use AI, data analytics and automation in audit work, such as automated testing, document review and continuous monitoring.
•Bring a continuous improvement mindset to Internal Audit's own methodology and to the business processes you review.
•Contribute to the Quality Self-Assessment and External Quality Assessment, and to the function's adherence to the IIA Global Internal Audit Standards.
Leadership
•Act as a role model and coach for junior colleagues, reviewing work and supporting their development. Contribute to recruitment and onboarding. Take on line management as the team grows.
What you'll need for this role:
Essential
•Experience in Internal Audit within financial services or similar, with a track record of leading a portfolio of audits in a regulated environment.
•A recognised professional qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIA or equivalent.
•Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge senior colleagues and influence without authority.
•Excellent written communication, able to turn complex issues into clear, concise, board-quality reports.
•Intellectual curiosity and a commercial outlook, balancing rigour with pragmatic, risk-proportionate recommendations.
•Fluency in written and spoken English.
Desirable
•Strong knowledge of regulatory risk e.g. AML, market abuse, consumer duty or client money.
•Experience in a trading, brokerage or other capital markets firm.
•Practical use of data analytics or automation in audit (for example SQL, Python, Power BI or AI tools).
•Experience contributing to audit methodology or transformation work.
•Prior line management experience.
The Perks:
It really is more than a job. We think like a start-up, but we deliver like a FTSE 100 — so the bar is high, and we won't pretend otherwise. We work hybrid, which means three days in the office. We'll recognise your talent and make sure that you can still have a life – at work, and outside of it. Networks, committees, awards, sports and social clubs, mentorships, volunteering opportunities, extra time off… the list goes on.
•Competitive salary
•Flexible Benefits Package on top of your salary (12%)
•Private medical cover for you and your family
•Life insurance
•Contribution to gym memberships
•25 Days holiday, with 1 additional day off to celebrate your Birthday & 2 additional days off a year for voluntary work (28 in total)
•The option to buy or sell holiday days
•A comprehensive global and local onboarding process
•Enhanced primary (maternity), secondary (paternity), and shared parental pay and leave, as well as a range of support and benefits for parents
