Pillar

Frontend developer for web conversion

In short

Frontend Engineer role at a construction fintech startup in Barcelona, owning UX, speed and conversion of acquisition paths from landing pages to onboarding, working closely with designers and marketing on A/B testing and data-driven iteration. Requires 3+ years with React/Next.js and modern CSS, a CRO/A/B testing background, and fluency in Italian or Spanish plus professional English. Onsite, full-time, gross salary 35.000-40.000 € based on experience.

About: Pillar was founded in 2025. Today, we are 90+ people, serve 1000+ customers, raised €15.2M (pre-seed and seed round) and are expanding internationally. We are building the financial operating system for construction: bringing AI, automation and modern software to an enormous industry still full of slow, fragmented processes. We are looking for a Frontend Engineer who thinks about the person on the other side of the screen, loves a measurable result and wants to build the web experience behind Pillar's growth.
Responsibilities:
•Make every page easier to use and easier to say yes to: own the UX, speed and conversion of our acquisition paths, from the first landing page to the onboarding wizard.
•Build and ship pages, components and flows with a strong focus on conversion and performance.
•Turn Figma designs into polished, mobile-first interfaces, and speak up when a design won't convert.
•Own the UX of our conversion paths: landing pages, forms, onboarding wizard and navigation.
•Run A/B tests with Marketing and iterate on layout, copy placement and interaction patterns.
•Use session recordings, heatmaps and funnel data to find where people drop off, then fix it.
•Keep the site fast and solid: Core Web Vitals, responsive behaviour, accessibility and SEO-friendly markup.
•Grow a reusable component library so new pages ship in days, not weeks.
Requirements:
•You have 3+ years of frontend experience with React / Next.js and modern CSS.
•You have a real eye for UI: spacing, hierarchy, states and micro-interactions.
•You work mobile-first by default, not as an afterthought.
•You are comfortable working from Figma, side by side with designers, and you can challenge a choice with data and alternatives.
•You have worked on CRO, A/B testing or conversion-driven web projects.
•You are data-driven: you think in conversion rate, drop-off, page speed and funnel, and you act on what you see.
•You are AI-native: AI is already part of how you prototype, test and ship.
•Fluent Italian or Spanish and professional English.
Nice to have:
•TypeScript
•Startup or high-growth experience
•GA4, GTM or PostHog
•Technical SEO
•Headless CMS such as Strapi
•No-code tools
•Motion and animation
Conditions:
•Gross salary 35.000-40.000 €, based on experience.
•1.000 € fringe benefit, 1.000 € welfare and 8 € a day in meal vouchers.
•A critical growth area that is yours, not someone else's backlog.
•Every test you ship moves a number the whole company looks at — the more you move the needle, the faster you grow.
•An offsite every 6 months with the whole team.
•A team that celebrates wins together, gives honest feedback and has fun along the way.
