Description
You will join our BFSI practice as a Senior Front-End Engineer on a flagship digital platform for a leading global asset management client. This is a client-facing role where how you work matters as much as what you know. You will take real ownership of the frontend of a large-scale, customer-facing web platform built on React and Next.js, work directly with client stakeholders, and help set the standard for quality, performance and delivery across the team.
Responsibilities
•Build and evolve a large-scale, customer-facing asset-management web platform using React, Next.js (SSR/SSG) and TypeScript
•Take ownership of features end to end – from technical design and estimation through build, testing and release
•Act as a key point of contact for client product owners, designers and content teams, translating business and regulatory requirements into technical solutions
•Contribute to and maintain reusable UI component libraries shared across teams within a monorepo setup
•Drive web performance, Core Web Vitals and technical SEO / structured data improvements
•Work with AWS-hosted infrastructure (S3, CDN caching) and GitLab CI/CD pipelines with Docker
•Use AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code to accelerate delivery
•Take part in sprint planning and Agile ceremonies, proactively flagging risks and dependencies
•Review code, mentor engineers and promote clean, secure, well-tested code
Requirements
•Proactive by nature – you spot problems and opportunities early, raise them, and take ownership of seeing them through without waiting to be asked
•A clear, confident communicator – you can explain technical decisions, trade-offs and risks in plain language to engineers, product owners and senior business stakeholders alike
•Strong at managing stakeholders – you build trust with the client, set and manage expectations, push back constructively when needed, and keep everyone informed on progress and blockers
•Accountable and delivery-focused – you care about getting quality work into production on time
•A team player who lifts others – you share knowledge, review code thoughtfully and support less experienced engineers
•Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)
•Minimum 10 years of front-end / web application engineering experience
•Strong commercial experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
•Experience building large-scale web applications and reusable component libraries
•A good understanding of web performance optimisation and Core Web Vitals
•Experience with state management (Redux, Context API) and build tooling (Webpack, Babel)
•Solid testing practice with Jest, React Testing Library and Cypress (or similar)
•Experience with CI/CD (GitLab or similar), Docker and AWS
•A track record of working directly with business or client stakeholders in an Agile environment
Nice to have
•Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
•Experience in financial services, ideally asset management or banking in an FCA-regulated environment
•Technical SEO and Schema.org / structured data implementation
•Monorepo tooling (RushJS, Nx, Turborepo) or micro-frontend architectures
•Practical use of AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code)
•Node.js, GraphQL and REST API integration
•Frontend security practices (RBAC/entitlements, OWASP)
