Finance Manager - Private Clients
Contract type - Permanent
Hours of work - Full-time/hybrid working
Location - Eaton Estate, Chester
We are looking for a qualified accountant to join our Private Clients Finance Team. This is a varied opportunity to combine accurate financial reporting with a thoughtful, personalised business partnering service in a confidential, client-focused environment.
Based at Eaton Estate Office, you will support senior finance colleagues in delivering financial information for private clients. Working with budget holders and internal and external advisers, you will help turn financial information into clear, practical insight, building trusted relationships and providing a responsive, professional service.
About the role
You will support the operational and financial reporting needs of the Private Clients area, maintaining high standards of accuracy, timeliness and confidentiality. Your responsibilities will include:
•Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts, year-end statutory accounts, quarterly forecasts and annual budgets for review.
•Working closely with budget holders to challenge assumptions, analyse performance and provide meaningful financial insight.
•Maintaining accurate records, regular reconciliations and robust financial controls.
•Supporting cashflow forecasts, working capital management and payment processes, working with specialist finance colleagues.
•Helping improve systems and processes, including opportunities for automation.
•Providing guidance to non-finance colleagues, supporting elements of the Assistant Accountant's workload and contributing to ad-hoc projects.
Alongside technical accounting skills, this role calls for sound judgement and an appreciation of the discretion required when supporting private clients. You will communicate information clearly and appropriately, recognising the importance of both service quality and confidentiality.
About you
You will be a qualified accountant with at least two years' experience, strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail. You will be highly proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, and comfortable delivering accurate work to tight deadlines.
You will bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders, and a proactive, collaborative approach. Professionalism, discretion and respect for client confidentiality are essential, as is a willingness to learn, share knowledge and improve ways of working.
Our shared values of integrity, trust and respect underpin how we work and the service we provide.
The role is based at Eaton Estate Office, Eccleston, with regular travel to other estate locations. A full driving licence is required. Additional hours may occasionally be needed to meet reporting deadlines.
Benefits
Along with hybrid working and a competitive salary, you will also receive a range of benefits including a very generous non-contributory pension, life assurance, 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, company sick pay, and other benefits and discounts via the employee benefits platform.
