Facility Project Manager - Operations
What this job involves: The Project Manager will oversee capital and operational projects across a multi-building portfolio for a single client account. This role requires coordinating simultaneous or sequential projects across sites, managing shared resources and contractors efficiently, and ensuring consistency in execution, quality, and client experience across all buildings. The Project Manager reports directly to the Account Director and serves as the primary point of contact for project-level activity across the portfolio.
What your day-to-day will look like:
•Lead the planning, budgeting, and execution of capital improvement, tenant improvement, and facility upgrade projects spanning multiple buildings within the portfolio
•Develop integrated project schedules that account for interdependencies between sites, optimizing contractor and vendor mobilization across locations to reduce redundant costs, and ensuring that work in one building does not negatively impact operations, access, or tenant experience in adjacent buildings
•Manage project budgets and forecasts for each building while rolling up portfolio-level reporting for the Account Director and client stakeholders
•Coordinate with building engineers, property management staff, and on-site teams at each location to align project timelines with building operations, life-safety requirements, and tenant schedules
•Procurement responsibilities include soliciting and evaluating bids from contractors and vendors, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor performance across multiple sites simultaneously
•Track and report on project risk, change orders, and schedule variances, escalating issues to the Account Director as needed
•Conduct regular project status meetings, preparing portfolio-wide project summaries, and ensuring that communication is consistent across all buildings so the client receives a unified view of project activity rather than fragmented, building-by-building updates
•Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, permitting requirements, and JLL safety standards at each site, and will support the Account Director in identifying opportunities for process standardization and efficiency gains across the portfolio
Required Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, business, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of project management experience in commercial real estate, facilities, or construction, ideally with exposure to managing multiple sites concurrently
•Experience with project management software, budgeting tools, and client reporting platforms
•Strong organizational skills are essential given the need to manage overlapping timelines, shared resources, and multiple stakeholders across adjacent buildings
•Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build trust with client representatives, building staff, and contractors alike
Preferred Qualifications:
•PMP certification
Location: Chicago, IL (on-site)
