About PPRO
At PPRO, we simplify access to local payments - providing a local payments platform that empowers giants like PayPal, Stripe, and Microsoft to connect with billions of consumers worldwide. We are on an ambitious, fast-paced mission to 3x our growth by 2028 - and we're just getting started. Our magic lies in our team of proud payments nerds. Spanning over 50 nationalities across 10+ global locations, our diverse cultures aren't a checklist; they are the competitive advantage driving our innovation. This is a people-first, high trust environment where you'll have the autonomy to make a massive impact, own your work end-to-end, and grow through broad exposure, meaningful challenges, and continuous learning.
The Purpose
Every event PPRO attends or hosts should earn its place. As our Senior Events Marketing Manager, you'll help decide where we show up, how we show up and what we get back, across Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and the US. You'll own the strategy, budget and delivery of your assigned events, from industry conferences to events we host ourselves. You'll work closely with Marketing, our commercial teams and senior leadership, and report to our Global Head of Events. This is a senior individual contributor role, so you'll have no direct reports, plenty of autonomy and a real say in where PPRO invests next.
Responsibilities
•Set the plan. Define the goals, priority audiences, scope, investment and success measures for each event, in line with our event marketing strategy.
•Choose the right mix. Decide how to combine sponsorship, exhibition space, speaking slots, customer and executive engagement, partner activations and hospitality, then get the most return from each.
•Run our own events. Take PPRO-hosted events from first idea to the day itself, including partner sponsorship where it makes sense.
•Build strong relationships. Work with organisers, partners, agencies and venues to strengthen our position, speaking presence and the value we get from every event.
•Advise and align. Brief and meet regularly with Marketing, Commercial and senior leadership. Give clear recommendations on investment, readiness, risks and trade-offs.
•Manage the money. Build and manage budgets and forecasts, weigh up sponsorship packages and scope, and handle invoicing and the wider financial process on time.
•Keep the calendar and data in shape. Own our global event calendar, plus our central event tracker and results dashboard.
•Measure and improve. Track results against your goals, such as pipeline influence and customer engagement, using Salesforce and AI tools. Use what you learn to shape the wider events portfolio, including which events we should prioritise, merge or leave behind.
•Try new formats. Bring fresh event ideas that suit our audiences and markets, and turn what works into playbooks and templates, so we can run events centrally and deliver them locally.
Requirements
•A strong track record in industry events, event marketing, experiential, integrated or partner marketing with at least 5 years of event marketing experience.
•Experience owning strategy and delivery for major global conferences, trade shows or partner-hosted events, with several business units, audiences and senior stakeholders involved.
•Confidence with budgets and with making tough calls on investment and scope.
•Negotiation skills, and good relationships with organisers, partners, agencies and venues.
•The ability to work independently, influence without authority and advise senior stakeholders.
•A data-driven mindset, sound financial instincts and clear communication.
•You stay calm and organised when things speed up.
•Fluent English.
•Willingness to travel globally, around 30% of the time.
•Experience in payments, fintech, technology, semiconductors, AI or other business-to-business (B2B) sectors.
•Experience building roadshows or multi-market event series.
Conditions
•Hybrid working - a hybrid structure with a 3 days / week on site expectation.
•28-day holiday allowance, plus a work from abroad policy enabling employees to work remotely for up to another 30 days per year.
•Learning and Development - a GBP 500 annual budget to support professional growth, plus leadership cafés, on-the-job training, and other opportunities.
•Insurance - medical insurance (BUPA health care plan) and a 5% matching pension plan through Now Pensions.
•Enhanced Family Leave.
•Workplace Nursery Scheme - save on childcare through salary exchange.
•Gym membership contribution.
•Mental Health Platform - one-on-one therapy, chat therapy, therapist-led courses, guided meditations, and more.
•HQ office on Procter Street, a short walk from Holborn, Farringdon and Covent Garden, set up for cross team collaboration.
