Role Description
As a Lead Engineer for Technology in our Technology team, you will partner with business, technology managers to create Designs, solutions and strongly engineered applications. You'll be an integral part of the bank's technology infrastructure, guiding the Feature teams through the engineering practices and leading by example. You will enable the digital environment that helps our people share their knowledge, expertise and real passion for our business.
The candidate in this role will architect, design, develop application code, implement technical solutions, and configure applications in On-prem and Google Cloud environments in response to business problems. To meet the requirements of the business, the candidate will actively participate in architecture design, application development lifecycle, investigate issues (bugs/performance), propose solutions, promote re-usability of existing components, and contribute to the creation of frameworks. The candidate will assist junior members of the team and guide them as applicable. Knowledge of Trade finance domain will be an advantage.

Your key responsibilities

•Actively participate and contribute to Agile ceremonies including Daily Stand up's, Sprint Planning, Sprint review, Sprint retrospective meetings
•Strong communication, negotiation, networking and influencing skills are essential because collaboration with end-users, technology and operational functions are critical to the relevance of the product
•Verifies the developed source code via reviews (4-eyes principle) and resolve review findings
•Integrates software components following the group's integration strategy
•Verifies integrated software components by unit and integrated software testing according to the software test plan. Software test findings must be resolved
•Ensures all code changes are tracked and recorded through the group's change management process as Change Items (CIs) and that development is scheduled and approved
•Provides Release Deployments on non-Production Management controlled environments
•Captures Build and Deployment notes, develops Software Product Deployment & Operating Instructions
•Manages maintenance of applications and performs technical change requests scheduled according to Release Management processes
•Fixes software defects/bugs
•Measures and analyses code for quality
•Collaborates with Functional Analysts and QA to complete work, as required
•Reviews and mentor's other developers in developing solutions which perform to expected results and handle negative test case scenarios
•Provides Level 3 support
•Contributes to root cause/problem analysis and solution brainstorming

•Recommend changes to improve established java application processes and its performance

Your skills and experience
•18+ years of relevant experience
•A hands-on technologist with expertise in Java based technologies, Spring, Microservices architecture, CI/CD pipeline
•Oracle SQL
•Ability to solve business problems with an acute engineering mindset
•Strong analytical and Design skills
•Proficient communication skills. Proficient English language skills (written/verbal)
•Ability to work in virtual teams and in matrixed organizations
•Keeps pace with technical innovation
•UI Technologies: ReactJS
•Java and J2EE Technologies: Spring MVC, JMS
•Spring Batch, Oracle, Unix Command, CI/CD, GIT/SVN
•Junit/Mockito (Any Unit Test Frameworks)
•Sonar Qube/ Emma Code Coverage and Code quality tools
•Familiarity with build tools such as Ant, Maven, and Gradle. CI/CD experience with Jenkins, Teamcity
•Performance monitoring Tools like Java Heap Analyzer, Visual JVM, JMX Console
•Micro Services: Spring Boot, Spring Cloud
•Kubernetes, API Gateway, SSL, OATH, JWT, Spring JPA, Kafka
•Updated relevant skill certification
