embedded software architect for automotive instrument clusters

In short

Senior embedded software architect role defining the software architecture of a Graphic Controller for automotive instrument clusters, covering multicore task models, IPC/synchronization mechanisms, and integration with ACE, INTEGRITY OS, middleware and HMI components. Posted by NTT DATA's Embedded Competence Center, which builds embedded systems and firmware for safety-critical automotive and IoT environments. Requires strong C/C++ and RTOS (Green Hills INTEGRITY) experience, ARM Cortex-A knowledge, and system-level debugging skills. Onsite, full-time position in Novi Sad, Serbia.

About the Role
The Embedded Competence Center at NTT DATA Romania develops embedded systems, firmware, and hardware–software integration solutions for safety-critical environments. It supports industries including automotive, industrial automation, smart devices, and IoT.
Responsibilities
•Own and maintain the Graphic Controller software architecture
•Define and coordinate the architecture of VASs and their interaction with the Base System
•Define the GC task model, including processes, threads, priorities, scheduling, CPU affinity, and startup dependencies
•Define high-level system mechanisms, including IPC/RPC, synchronization, shared memory, resource management, error handling, and system supervision
•Design and optimize the software architecture for multicore execution
•Ensure integration between VASs, ACE, INTEGRITY OS, middleware, and application/HMI components
•Analyze system-level issues related to CPU load, memory, timing, synchronization, and performance
•Support software integration, debugging, system bring-up, and architectural reviews
•Collaborate with HMI, platform, integration, hardware, and system teams
Requirements
•Strong experience in embedded software architecture and development
•Strong knowledge of C/C++
•Experience with RTOS-based architectures, preferably Green Hills INTEGRITY
•Good understanding of ACE or comparable automotive middleware/platform architectures
•Strong knowledge of processes, threads, scheduling, IPC, synchronization, and memory management
•Experience with multicore embedded systems, CPU affinity, and resource allocation
•Good understanding of ARM Cortex-A architectures, ideally Cortex-A7
•Strong system-level debugging and performance analysis skills
Nice to Have
•Experience with Renesas automotive controllers/SoCs
•Experience with Automotive Instrument Cluster, Digital Cockpit, or Infotainment systems
•Green Hills MULTI / INTEGRITY development experience
•Knowledge of graphics/HMI architectures
•Experience with MMU, shared memory, cache management, and inter-core communication
•Automotive SPICE / ISO 26262 knowledge
