Job Summary
If you have a background in software test, data acquisition, controls, simulation and plant modeling, or test automation, this role offers a unique opportunity to apply those skills to next-generation liquid cooling technology for AI-driven datacenters. You will fill a critical knowledge gap on the team, bridging software-driven testing methodologies with hands-on hardware validation.
The DVT Engineer (Test Automation & Data Systems) is responsible for advancing the team's capabilities in automated test execution, data acquisition system development, controls integration, and simulation-based validation. While executing Design Verification Testing (DVT) activities, this role places special emphasis on building and improving the software infrastructure that supports testing.
The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to automate test workflows, enhance data collection and analysis pipelines, develop simulation models for system-level validation, and support Factory Witness Testing (FWT) with robust, repeatable test processes.
This position requires collaboration across mechanical, electrical, controls, process, and manufacturing engineering in a fast-paced lab environment, with a strong emphasis on bringing software and automation expertise to a hardware-focused team.
Key Responsibilities
•Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts and sequences for Design Verification Testing (DVT) of liquid cooling systems.
•Design and configure data acquisition (DAQ) systems, including sensor integration, signal conditioning, and data logging pipelines.
•Build and refine software tools for real-time monitoring, alarming, and visualization of test system performance.
•Develop simulation and plant models (e.g., in MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or Modelica) to support virtual validation and test planning.
•Create and maintain test automation frameworks that improve test repeatability, throughput, and coverage.
•Integrate controls systems and PLC logic into test setups; support commissioning and troubleshooting of automated test stations.
•Collect, verify, and analyze test data using scripted workflows; automate report generation and data post-processing.
•Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers to define test requirements and translate them into automated procedures.
•Support Factory Witness Testing (FWT) by developing automated test sequences and ensuring systems meet defined test conditions.
•Identify and troubleshoot issues related to test software, DAQ configurations, instrumentation, and control system interfaces.
•Support root-cause investigations for test failures using data-driven analysis and diagnostic tools.
•Develop and maintain version-controlled test procedure documentation and software repositories.
•Identify opportunities to improve test efficiency, data quality, and lab processes through automation and software tools.
•Maintain organization and cleanliness of lab spaces and test areas (5S practices).
Basic Requirements
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
•3–6 years of experience in test automation, data acquisition systems, controls engineering, software test, or simulation/modeling.
•Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or C/C++.
•Experience with data acquisition hardware and software (e.g., NI DAQ, HBM, Yokogawa, or similar platforms).
•Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with an ability to debug both software and hardware systems.
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience developing simulation or plant models using MATLAB/Simulink, Modelica, or similar tools.
•Familiarity with test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines for test execution.
•Experience with PLC programming, controls integration, or SCADA systems.
•Knowledge of thermal systems, liquid cooling, HVAC, or heat transfer fundamentals.
•Experience with real-time data visualization tools (e.g., Grafana, custom dashboards, or LabVIEW front panels).
•Exposure to ASHRAE testing or similar performance validation methods.
•Experience supporting Factory Witness Testing (FWT) or customer-facing test activities.
•Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and software development best practices.
•Experience with automated test reporting tools and frameworks for generating and distributing test results.
•Familiarity with AI/ML integration in test automation, including predictive analytics, anomaly detection, or intelligent test optimization.
