The company is in regulated IT/tech, requiring extensive hands-on on-premises (not managed-cloud-only) Kubernetes experience, strong Linux skills, scripting (Bash/Python/Go), and IaC tools like Ansible and Terraform. It's an onsite, full-time, mid-level position in Berlin.

Tasks
•Design, build, and operate on-premises Kubernetes environments and automate infrastructure processes using IaC tools
•Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, platform monitoring, logging, and alerting, as well as Network Policies, Service Mesh, and East-West traffic optimization
•Ensure the container platform's high availability, scalability, and resilience
•Integrate new services and microservices into the Kubernetes environment; troubleshoot and optimize performance in complex cluster environments
•Implement security measures such as RBAC, Secrets Management, Network Policies, and image scanning
•Integrate and operate bare-metal storage solutions for Kubernetes; manage CSI drivers and distributed storage systems
•Manage the lifecycle of Kubernetes clusters and related system components
•Collaborate closely with development teams to promote DevOps practices
•Document systems, create operational concepts, and develop technical standards
Requirements
•Extensive experience operating on-premises Kubernetes environments; managed-cloud-only experience is not sufficient
•Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker, containerd, or CRI-O, and experience with Service Mesh
•Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines and with monitoring and observability
•Very good Linux administration skills, such as Ubuntu, RHEL, or SLES
•Knowledge of scripting and automation; Bash, Python, and Go are relevant
•Knowledge of virtualization technologies, high-availability and cluster design, and networking, including TCP/IP, load balancing, Ingress, firewalls, and DNS
•Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Ansible and Terraform in regulated environments
•Experience with storage systems in Kubernetes and with GitOps or configuration automation
•Team spirit, a strong sense of responsibility when operating critical systems, openness to new technologies and projects, and enthusiasm for open-source tools
Nice to have
