About the area
Data Centre Services (DCS) at Deutsche Bank is the central IT infrastructure team responsible for the strategic leadership, operational management, and governance of the global IT Hosting portfolio, encompassing data centres and technology rooms. DCS manages a reliable, flexible, and efficient hosting portfolio to meet the evolving needs of the bank, including AI, Private Cloud, and Ultra-Low Latency technologies to support the business.
The function is responsible for the operational management alongside robust governance and control for Regional Data Centres (RDCs) and Edge Data Centres (EDCs), achieved through diligent oversight, vendor management, cost control, and capacity utilisation. •Onsite Facility Reviews: Perform regular, comprehensive onsite visits and operational reviews of the newly commissioned, state-of-the-art DC facility in Frankfurt as well as existing facilities in Germany, to ensure strict conformance to global standards for availability, performance, and security.
•Incident & Change Governance: Act as the local escalation point for white space activities (IMAC/R/D), orchestrating rapid incident resolution, conducting thorough root-cause analyses, and approving complex changes to minimize production risks.
•Conduit for DCS & Vendors: Act as the primary, high-level conduit and liaison between the wider global DCS team and local onsite operational vendors/smart hands teams.
•Landlord & Operator Relations: Work in close partnership with facility landlords, colocation operators, and utility providers to oversee planned maintenance (MOPs), risk assessments, and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) activities, ensuring facility-related issues never impact production services.
•Service Delivery & Compliance: Supervise on-site third-party partners to ensure vendor deliverables, operational workflows, and health & safety standards strictly align with contractual obligations and the global Target Operating Model (TOM).
Your skills and experiences
•Experience: Minimum of 7–10 years of hands-on experience in data centre operations, with at least 3–5 years in a lead, supervisory, or managerial role managing complex facilities.
•Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of physical data centre white space infrastructure (racking, copper/fibre cabling, patching, PDUs) and Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) grey space systems (UPS, cooling, power distribution, generators, fire protection, and BMS).
•Local Language Proficiency: Fluency in German (written and spoken) is required to effectively manage local landlords, German authorities, and local vendor staff; high proficiency in English (written and spoken) is also required for global team collaboration.
•Local Standards Knowledge: Strong understanding of German engineering, environmental, and safety standards (e.g., VDE standards, DIN, UVV) as applicable to critical facilities operations.
•Transition & Frameworks: Proven experience in change management or organisational transitions (implementing TOM) and a solid understanding of the ITIL framework.
