Business analyst in real estate management

In short

This role bridges business requirements and technical implementation for Germany's largest pension insurer's real estate and administrative IT domain, covering requirements engineering, process modeling, and systems integration. It is an onsite, full-time position in Berlin at a large public-sector employer. It requires at least 3 years of business analysis experience in complex IT environments, systems integration experience, and fluent German.

About the role
The German Federal Pension Insurance (DRV Bund) is Germany's largest pension insurance provider and a cornerstone of social security in Germany. We support people throughout their lives—from the start of their careers to retirement. 24.2 million insured people, 10.8 million pensioners, and 3.5 million employers rely on us. For our IT specialist domain for real estate and administrative management, we are looking for you as a Business Analyst / Systems Integrator.
Tasks
You bridge the gap between users' business requirements and their technical implementation, and know how to analyze complex business processes in depth, translate them into clear requirements, and play a key role in designing and implementing them yourself.
•Systematically gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements in close collaboration with customers' business departments
•Modeling and optimizing business processes and translating them into precise functional concepts, user stories, and specifications
•Managing and supporting integration and implementation projects in coordination with development, operations, and external service providers
•Conducting feasibility analyses and evaluating solution approaches in line with the system landscape
•Providing consulting services, particularly on process modeling, to the business department
•Representing IT topics competently to internal customers and stakeholders, with a strong service and solution orientation
•Hands-on approach: actively contributing to implementation—from design through to technical realization
•Configuring systems and creating automations
Requirements
•Successfully completed university education (Bachelor's degree or Diplom from a university of applied sciences) in IT, or an equivalent qualification (for example, IT-specific training), or completed vocational training in IT, or at least 5 years of practical experience in IT
•At least 3 years of professional experience in business analysis or requirements engineering in a complex IT environment
•Demonstrable practical experience in systems integration and working with modern interface technologies
•Knowledge of common project or process management methods
•Fluent German, both written and spoken
•Ability to quickly familiarize yourself with existing software architectures and operational procedures, and to help solve technical problems hands-on
•Strong analytical and conceptual skills combined with a pragmatic can-do attitude
•Excellent communication and negotiation skills to explain technical matters clearly to business departments and vice versa
•Special reliability and integrity are required because this is a position at risk of corruption
Conditions
•An interesting and varied role with all the benefits of a large public-sector employer
•Structured onboarding and extensive opportunities for training and professional development
•Family-friendly, flexible, and service-oriented working time models
•The health of our employees matters to us. We support the practical integration of workplace health management into everyday work
