FLEX Capital

AI product manager

In short

This role drives AI projects across a venture fund's portfolio companies, from initial use case idea to production implementation, bridging tech teams, portfolio stakeholders, and the fund's Operating Partner AI. Posted by FLEX Capital, a venture capital fund in Berlin, for a hybrid, senior-level position. Requires 3–5 years of product/project experience combined with technical skills (Python, Cursor, Claude Code, LLM/RAG/agents understanding), plus C1–C2 German and English.

About the role
As an AI Product & Project Manager (m/f/d), you drive AI projects forward in our portfolio companies and within the fund itself—from the first use case idea to completed implementation in production. You combine product and user thinking with technical aptitude, build prototypes yourself, and operate at the intersection of tech teams, portfolio stakeholders, and our Operating Partner AI.
Responsibilities
•Drive AI projects: You guide use cases from idea through conception to implementation—in collaboration with the portfolio teams and the FLEX-AI team.
•Bring in the product and user perspective: You ask the right questions, consistently refine requirements from the user's perspective, and ensure that technical possibilities become real products that work in everyday use and in production.
•Build rapid prototypes yourself: Using tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and some Python, you develop PoCs that portfolio companies and we in the fund use as a starting point for production implementation.
•Operate at the interface: You work closely with our internal AI team and act as a bridge between technical implementation, portfolio stakeholders, and the Operating Partner—as a translator, driver, and sparring partner. You work very independently, prioritize on your own, and drive topics forward even without close supervision.
Requirements
•3–5 years of professional experience, ideally combining product or project work with technical aptitude.
•Experience building prototypes: basic Python skills, familiarity with AI coding tools such as Cursor or Claude Code, and ideally initial experience with APIs and LLM integrations.
•A solid understanding of modern AI stacks (LLMs, RAG, agents, evals).
•A structured, independent, and solutions-oriented approach to work.
•Very good German and English skills (C1–C2 in both), spoken and written.
•A passion for translating AI into business practice.
What we offer
•Freedom to shape things: Plenty of room for your own ideas—you help decide which use cases we tackle and how we implement them.
•State-of-the-art tooling: Work with the latest AI tools and frameworks, without lengthy approval processes.
•Direct impact: Projects with a noticeable effect on business processes across several industries at once.
•Learning curve and responsibility: Close collaboration with our Operating Partner AI, tech teams, and C-level leaders.
•An environment where your contribution is visible and has a direct impact, both in the portfolio companies and at FLEX.
•Entrepreneurial responsibility and a fast path for learning and development.
•Close collaboration with experienced founders and C-level leaders.
•A modern working environment in Berlin with a flexible hybrid structure.
•Competitive compensation including a bonus and a permanent contract.
•Regular events, a shared summer vacation, and various health offerings, such as massage and physiotherapy in the office.
