Helping a customer choose a suitable outfit. Understanding information from documents. Having an application carry out actions in our systems in a controlled way. As an AI Engineer at Omoda Brands, you build the AI functionality that makes this possible. You make sure it reliably does what it should in production.
Responsibilities
•You build AI functionality that understands information, generates answers or content and carries out actions in a controlled way
•You combine models, business data, retrieval and tools into working applications
•You develop, deploy and manage the services and APIs behind those applications
•You set up evaluations and treat prompts and configurations as versioned, tested components
•You build in logging, monitoring, error handling and fallback options from the start
•You ensure clear boundaries on what an application may do on its own and when human review is needed
•You monitor and improve quality, reliability, speed and costs in production
•You help build shared AI facilities that the team can reuse
Requirements
•You are a mid-level or senior software engineer and have brought AI or LLM applications into production
•You can build, deploy and manage reliable backend services and APIs
•You have practical experience with, for example, retrieval, tool use, agents or multimodal models
•You understand embeddings, context management and the trade-offs around fine-tuning
•You know how to test systems whose output is not identical every time
•You work with Python or a comparable backend language and have experience with a cloud platform
•You use coding agents and critically assess their output
•You can explain technical choices clearly
•Good command of the Dutch language is required for this role
•You don't need to know every model or framework. We consider strong software engineering, production experience and the ability to get to grips with new technology more important
Conditions
•Flexible working from Zierikzee, Amsterdam or Zwolle. We get together on average 1 to 2 days a week at one of these locations
•32–38 hours per week, depending on your preference
