About
Tangem is a high-tech company in the blockchain sector, founded in 2017, headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, with branches in North America, Eastern Europe, and APAC. We're looking for a hands-on Tech Lead to own the technical direction and architecture of our Investment & Growth stream. You'll work across mobile, backend, and blockchain, ensuring all components work reliably together.
Responsibilities
•Own technical architecture across mobile, backend, and blockchain components within the Grow stream
•Get involved at the start of each major feature to define architecture, identify technical risks, and ensure smooth integration between systems
•Review architecture decisions across teams and make sure mobile, backend, and blockchain components work reliably together
•Own the provider layer across swap, on-ramp, staking, and venue integrations
•Design transaction lifecycle handling for money-moving flows: idempotency, state machines for long-running operations, retries, partial fills, stalled transactions, and reconciliation with partners
•Lead technical evaluation and onboarding of aggregators, on-ramp providers, staking providers, exchanges, and perp venues
•Own end-to-end delivery for all Grow sub-streams: scope, estimates, dependencies, release plan, and launch
•Coordinate technical decisions and dependencies across iOS, Android, backend, and blockchain teams
•Run one delivery plan across sub-streams competing for shared engineering capacity and negotiate trade-offs
•Manage dependencies on shared platform teams and the Store and Spend streams
•Report status, risks, and forecasts to the CTO
•Provide technical leadership across the stream, working closely with functional engineering leads
•Support engineers through technical guidance, feedback, and hiring
•Own on-call and incident response wherever user funds are in motion, with severity levels and MTTR targets
•Build deeper domain expertise across teams, particularly around execution, settlement, and custody
Requirements
•8+ years in engineering, with 3+ years of technical leadership experience delivering consumer products in production
•Strong hands-on architecture experience across mobile, backend, and blockchain systems. Able to design and review technical solutions across all three areas, identify integration risks, and guide implementation
•Experience with Kotlin or Node.js. Strong understanding of backend architecture, APIs, microservices, asynchronous communication, and distributed systems
•Solid mobile engineering knowledge. Understands iOS and Android architecture, security, performance, and release processes. Able to review technical decisions and identify risks
•Strong blockchain fundamentals. Understands how smart contracts work and interact with applications, common blockchain standards (including EVM/EIP/ERC concepts), transaction execution, and basic smart contract security risks. Hands-on smart contract development is not required
•Still technical. Able to investigate production issues and debug failed transactions end to end. This is not a purely managerial role
•Multi-chain in practice: EVM plus at least one of Solana, TON, Bitcoin/UTXO, or Cosmos. Transaction lifecycle, fee and nonce management, re-orgs, token approvals, address derivation, and signing constraints
•DeFi integration: has shipped DEX aggregation and routing, staking (delegation, unbonding, reward accounting), or yield vaults. Treats slippage, MEV, and quote decay as engineering problems
•Trading-venue integration: experience with exchange APIs in production — REST and WebSocket, rate limits, order lifecycle, deposits and withdrawals, settlement, and custody boundaries. Can explain how a quote becomes a fill and what breaks in between
•Money-movement correctness: idempotency, exactly-once semantics, reconciliation, long-running state machines, and observability. Has been on call for systems where a bug costs users money
•Mobile delivery: has shipped with iOS and Android teams — release trains, backward compatibility across app versions, feature flags, and forced upgrades
•Experience coordinating architecture and delivery across multiple teams or workstreams
•Has managed technical relationships with third-party providers, including holding them accountable
Nice to have
•Has built systems where settlement, reconciliation, and order lifecycle carried real consequences: brokerage, CFD, payments, or PSP
•Derivatives literacy — margin, funding rates, liquidation mechanics. Directly relevant to the Hyperliquid sub-stream
•Prediction markets or event contracts. Directly relevant to the Polymarket sub-stream
•Regulated delivery: MiCA and CASP, travel rule, geo-restriction design, KYC and AML flows
•Security engineering around signing flows, key material, and third-party risk
Conditions
•Stability, development, participation in the future unicorn's growth
•Remote work from anywhere in the world
•Competitive salary in EUR/USDT
•Unlimited vacation
•Birthday presents
•Compensation for the purchase of necessary technical devices for the work
•Paid sick leaves
