About JUNI
JUNI is building the startup factory for science-based spin-offs in Berlin and Brandenburg. We connect universities, startups, companies, investors and policymakers, creating the spaces, programs and partnerships that turn research into successful companies. Our teams use tools for CRM, events, newsletters, helpdesk, community and reporting, as well as new tools for ecosystem and matching work.
As Technical Product Manager, you build solutions yourself, translate colleagues' requests into what they really need, and bring in and manage developers for larger projects. You report to our Head of Product & Tech.
Tasks
•Build and test automations, workflows and small tools yourself, mainly with low-code and no-code tools
•Take responsibility for how our tools work for the teams that use them: CRM, helpdesk, events, newsletter, community
•Try out new tools and AI features for our teams' everyday work
•Document what you build so colleagues can use it without you
•Manage cross-team projects from the initial request through rollout: scope, timeline, dependencies, budget
•Own the backlog and decide what comes next: priorities, scope and what we deliberately do not do
•Translate team requests into clear requirements and assess the result against them
•Only take on work that has an accountable person and a specific use case, and say no when those are missing
•Be the first point of contact for tools and processes for colleagues in programs, partnerships, communications and operations
•Work closely with our internal developers and our IT & Operations Specialist
•Manage internal and external developers in their day-to-day work
•Select and brief external developers for projects and continuously check the quality
Requirements
•You have built things yourself: either you moved from development into product management, or you come from product and have started building things yourself
•At least 4 years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner, ideally for internal tools or platforms
•You are at home with low-code, automation and AI tools, know Claude and Claude Code, and enjoy trying new things
•You understand APIs, read API documentation and write SQL in your day-to-day work
•You understand what you build: the underlying requirements, how it fits into our tool and data landscape, and where things can break, especially when an AI tool has written it
•You find out what colleagues and users need, not just what they ask for
•You raise problems early and directly instead of working around them
•Interest in innovation, startups and science
•Fluent in German and English
Conditions
•A role with real responsibility: you make the day-to-day product decisions
•Direct influence on how a young startup factory works and grows
•A motivated team with a hands-on mindset and flat hierarchies
•Flexible working hours and hybrid work
•A modern working environment in the heart of Berlin
•Compensation that reflects experience and responsibility
