About the role
Saab Surveillance offers world-leading technology that provides situational awareness and decision support for defense against various threats. The portfolio includes radar, electronic warfare and command systems, as well as security and safety solutions.
The Surface Halmstad department works with Saab's radar and command systems. We work closely with Surface design Mechanics & Power, which is responsible for developing mechanics, power systems and wiring in these products through system development, procurement support, product development, integration and verification.
To strengthen our system safety work within Saab Surveillance and the Surface Sensor Solutions area, we are now looking for a System Safety Engineer in Halmstad.
In this role, you become an important part of the development of our advanced sensor systems. You will work with analyses, risk assessments, requirements specification, design support and reviews to ensure that our technical systems are safe to use and meet applicable requirements and standards.
You will work closely with several parts of the business, including system design, software, electronics, mechanics, test and project management. System safety is an integrated part of development, and you become an important partner throughout the entire product development process.
The role is based in Halmstad, where you become the primary contact for system safety issues within the business. At the same time, you are part of an established system safety team with experienced colleagues in Gothenburg. This means you get the opportunity to both take local responsibility and build a strong competence network within the field.
We are in an exciting growth phase where you get the opportunity to influence working methods, collaborations and how system safety work develops going forward. The role offers a combination of technical breadth, extensive contact surfaces and the opportunity to work closely with the business and our products.
Your profile
We are open to both junior and more senior candidates and therefore believe that the right person can have several different backgrounds.
Perhaps you currently work with system safety or functional safety. Perhaps you are a systems engineer, development engineer or have another technical role where you have built up a good understanding of complex systems and want to develop further within the system safety area.
Regardless of background, we believe you have a strong technical interest and are driven by wanting to understand how different parts interact in a larger system. You work in a structured way, have analytical ability and enjoy collaborating with people from different technical areas.
To succeed in the role, we see that you:
•Have a technical higher education.
•Have a good ability to grasp and understand complex technical systems.
•Communicate well in both Swedish and English, verbally and in writing.
•Enjoy working cross-functionally and creating good collaborations.
It is advantageous if you have experience of:
•Product development in technology-intensive operations.
•Systems engineering work, verification or requirements management.
•Risk analyses and safety work.
•System safety or functional safety.
•Safety standards and regulatory requirements.
For those who want to develop within system safety, the role offers good opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues and gradually build specialist competence in the field.
The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to the security regulations in force at the time. For positions where Saab has requirements on security classification, this may, where applicable, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
