Software Engineer, Vision and Robotics

In short

Software Engineer role developing vision and robotics software for modular robotics platforms at an intralogistics equipment manufacturer, based onsite in Aarhus within a small Robot Product Team. The job covers software development, code quality, testing on local test loops or sites, and close collaboration with a Technical Product Owner across electrical, mechanical and automation disciplines. It demands solid C# and Python real-time development skills, expertise in 3D vision, point cloud processing and object recognition, plus experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and integration with robotic systems and sensors.

Tasks
Do you thrive in designing and developing software solutions for modular robotics platforms? Are you motivated by taking responsibility for the entire software development process and ensuring compliance with quality and architectural standards? If so, we might have the right job for you!
As a Software Engineer within vision and robotics, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions while ensuring compliance with quality and architectural standards. Moreover, you will contribute to the successful implementation of solutions by conducting training sessions for internal stakeholders and end users. You will support projects, collaborate closely with the Technical Product Owner (TPO), and ensure valuable feedback from projects and site integration is used for adjustments and further development.
We are a global organization, but you will be working from our office in Aarhus and be part of a small team of highly skilled colleagues in logistics. You will join the Robot Product Team, which covers multiple disciplines – Electrical, Mechanical, Automation – with you as the software responsible. You will work in close collaboration with the TPO, who acts as Product Owner, and you will have sparring opportunities with software colleagues across the organization to support knowledge sharing and development.
Your responsibilities will be:
•Improving new software products related to vision and robotic applications and supporting their use in projects.
•Maintaining and developing software applications according to our operating model and applicable standards.
•Ensuring code quality through reviews, documentation, and adherence to coding and architectural guidelines.
•Offering input to automation strategy and technical requirements and setting product requirements in collaboration with the business.
•Testing and validating functionalities on our local test loop or on sites.
•Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams on a common system and evaluating and selecting appropriate technologies for automation and system integration.
Requirements
You are familiar with commonly used tools, frameworks, and libraries relevant to 3D vision, point cloud processing, and AI development, and can evaluate and apply them effectively based on product needs.
Additionally, we imagine that:
•You hold a bachelor's or master's degree, or an equivalent qualification in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
•You have solid proficiency developing real-time applications in C# and Python.
•You possess solid expertise in classical computer vision and 3D geometry, with a strong focus on point cloud processing and object recognition.
•Experience or interest in machine learning and signal processing is highly relevant, as these fields play an increasing role in advancing vision and robotics applications.
•You have experience in developing and maintaining various software architectures such as Docker and Kubernetes.
•You possess strong knowledge of software design principles, design patterns, and effort estimation for development tasks, and have hands-on experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), as well as software prototyping and conceptualization.
•You bring a solid understanding of high-level integration with robotic systems and can design and implement interfaces that enable effective communication between software components and robotic controls.
•You can combine input from multiple sensors into valuable insights. This could be cameras, LiDAR's, encoders, safety sensors etc.
•Moreover, you demonstrate innovative thinking, analytical skills, and a strong problem-solving mindset.
•You bring excellent communication skills, team spirit, and a high willingness to learn.
•You enjoy working collaboratively across disciplines in a diverse and inclusive environment.
