Ubiquiti

Software Engineer – Cloud Hosting (Python)

In short

This role builds and operates backend services and cloud infrastructure for hosting UniFi and UISP applications, covering provisioning, upgrades, backups, migrations, and monitoring for thousands of customer instances worldwide. Ubiquiti, a networking hardware and IT platform company, is hiring for its Prague office onsite team. The job spans application code, AWS infrastructure, deployment automation, networking, and databases rather than traditional web-backend work. Strong Python and Linux skills, production debugging experience, networking fundamentals, and Docker/Git experience are required, with Go, AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD experience as a plus.

•Design and implement reliable deployment and migration workflows
•Work with AWS infrastructure and containerized services

•Improve reliability, observability, scalability, and security of the hosting platform
•Review technical designs and code and collaborate with other engineering teams
•Participate in evolving the architecture of the hosting platform
Requirements
Required:
•Strong software development experience with Python
•Strong Linux knowledge and experience debugging production systems
•Good understanding of networking fundamentals
•Experience with relational databases
•Experience with containers and Docker
•Experience with Git and modern software development workflows
•Ability to troubleshoot issues across application, operating system, network, and infrastructure layers
•Good written and verbal English communication skills
Nice to have:
•Experience with Go
•AWS experience
•Infrastructure-as-code experience (e.g. Terraform)
•CI/CD and deployment automation experience
•Bash or other scripting experience
•Experience operating services at a significant scale
•Experience with monitoring and observability tooling
•Security-minded approach to infrastructure and backend development
