About the Role
We're working on a software router used by Fortune 500 companies, focused on high-speed VPN connections and enhanced security across various platforms. This is a hands-on Software Architect role focused on the architecture of a network OS. You'll work directly with the engineering team to define and evolve the architecture, drive technical decisions from design through implementation, and contribute to production code. The team has a flat structure, so this is not a purely advisory role. The architect will stay close to both the product and the codebase.
Responsibilities

Requirements
•Strong Unix expertise across BSD and Linux
•Deep knowledge of routing and network stacks
•Experience with packet filtering and tunneling
•Hands-on software engineering experience
•Experience contributing to production code
•Experience designing system architecture and taking it through to implementation
•Ability to drive technical decisions from design through implementation
•Ability to work directly with engineers in a flat team structure
•English: C1 or native proficiency, both spoken and written
Nice to Have
•Familiarity with routers, firewalls, or network appliances
•Golang experience in systems software or network services
•Familiarity with PHP
