Essential Job Functions
•Use advanced technical knowledge and experience to analyze and review cybersecurity events, differentiating legitimate activities from malicious events and escalating confirmed incidents to Tier 2.
•Perform cybersecurity analysis, including correlation and trend analysis across large volumes of data such as logs, events, and alerts from network devices and corporate applications, in order to identify, investigate, and resolve security incidents, providing technical support to Tier 2 analysts and engineers.
•Perform proactive threat hunting activities in logs, networks, and systems to identify threats not yet detected.
•Identify and recommend Indicators of Compromise (IOCs), such as malicious IP addresses and URLs, to help protect clients' environments.
•Support Tier 2 teams in resolving and assisting with confirmed incidents.
•Report recurring issues identified through trend analysis to SOC (Security Operations Center) management, proposing technical and process improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of monitoring and incident handling.
•Identify, report, and escalate security breaches.
Basic Qualifications
•Experience as an Information Security Analyst or Engineer, working on handling and responding to cybersecurity incidents in critical environments, or equivalent knowledge in the following areas:
•Incident handling and analysis;
•Intrusion detection;
•Log analysis;
•Penetration Testing;
•Vulnerability management.
Desirable Qualifications
•Knowledge of:
•Current cyber threats;
•Attack techniques and countermeasures;
•Malicious activities such as network scanning, DDoS, phishing, ransomware, botnets, and Command and Control (C2) activities.
•Hands-on experience analyzing and responding to security events and incidents using most of the following technologies:
•SIEM (Security Information and Event Management);
•IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems);
•Network and host firewalls;
•NAC (Network Access Control);
•DLP (Data Loss Prevention);
•DAM (Database Activity Monitoring);
•Web and email filtering tools;
•Vulnerability scanners;
•Endpoint protection;
•Secure coding practices.
Work schedule: 12x36 shift, from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
