Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) / QA

Startale is building StartaleApp, a next-generation Web3 application that unifies blockchain and DeFi functionality into a single user experience. The platform integrates multiple blockchain networks, smart contracts, wallets, tokens, and on-chain protocols across frontend, backend, and decentralized systems.
Applicants must be located in Singapore, Tokyo, or within APAC/Asia, EMEA, or the UK.
Responsibilities:
•Design and build the company's quality engineering platform
•Define testing architecture across unit, integration, contract, API, and end-to-end tests
•Build reusable testing frameworks, shared libraries, fixtures, and developer tooling
•Design and implement AI-assisted QA workflows (test generation, failure analysis, regression detection)
•Integrate automated testing into CI/CD with fast feedback and automated quality gates
•Validate complex Web3/DeFi flows, smart contracts, wallets, token operations and transaction lifecycles
•Develop performance, load, stress and resilience testing for services and Web3 infrastructure
Requirements:
•5+ years in SDET, Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or Software Engineering roles
•Strong software engineering skills with JavaScript or TypeScript
•Experience designing testing architecture for complex distributed systems
•Built scalable automation frameworks and reusable testing libraries
•Experience with Playwright or Cypress and API testing (REST, JSON-RPC, GraphQL, WebSocket)
•Integrated automated testing into CI/CD and worked with Docker/containerized testing environments
•Experience with performance/load/reliability testing and production observability/debugging
Nice to have:
•Professional experience testing Web3 applications, blockchain infrastructure, or DeFi protocols
•Strong understanding of smart contracts, wallets, tokens, RPCs, and on-chain transaction flows
•Experience with blockchain testing frameworks, local networks, testnets, or smart contract tooling
•Experience designing AI-assisted testing systems and using LLMs for QA workflows
•Experience with Kubernetes and observability platforms (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
