Description
We're looking for a Security Engineer to build and improve bot-detection capabilities across web, mobile, API and edge services. You'll develop signals and classification logic to distinguish people, legitimate bots, AI-driven bots and other automated traffic, helping protect platforms while minimising disruption to genuine customers.
Tasks
•Build, test and tune bot-detection signals, behavioural analytics and classification logic.
•Improve telemetry, data quality and attribution across application and platform services.
•Manage detection changes using version control, testing, staged rollouts and rollback controls.
•Measure detection quality, including precision, recall, coverage and false positives.
•Investigate changing bot behaviour and evasion techniques to improve detection capabilities.
•Develop monitoring and reporting to support proportionate traffic-management decisions.
Requirements
•Experience building or operating production software, security systems or traffic-protection capabilities.
•Strong coding skills in Python, Go or Java, including testing and maintaining production systems.
•Experience analysing event or traffic data and developing detection logic, behavioural signals or classification systems.
•Understanding of web, mobile, API or edge security and automated-traffic abuse patterns.
•Ability to balance security effectiveness with false positives and customer impact.
•Strong communication skills across security, engineering, data and product teams.
Nice to have
•Experience with bot management, WAFs, CDNs, mobile security signals, machine learning, anomaly detection, fraud prevention or threat research would be beneficial.
