Haiven is building a gaming community platform where players can discover games, connect with communities, chat with friends, and engage directly with developers.
Responsibilities
•Take ownership of developing Haiven's mobile applications for iOS and Android using React Native
•Quickly learn Haiven's existing product, APIs, and architecture
•Design, build, and maintain responsive, high-performance mobile experiences
•Translate product requirements into polished, production-ready mobile features
•Integrate REST APIs, authentication, real-time services, notifications, and social functionality
•Collaborate with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering throughout feature development
•Optimize application performance, startup time, responsiveness, battery usage, and memory consumption
•Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code
•Participate in code reviews and help establish mobile engineering best practices
•Troubleshoot production issues and improve application stability
•Support App Store and Google Play release processes
•Improve overall engineering quality and mobile architecture
•Contribute to a production-ready mobile application, deliver working features, communicate blockers early, and maintain steady progress
•Take ownership of major portions of the mobile codebase and help shape long-term mobile architecture
Requirements
•4+ years of professional software engineering experience
•3+ years building production mobile applications with React Native
•Experience shipping and maintaining applications on both iOS and Android
•Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
•Strong understanding of React Native architecture, navigation, state management, and application lifecycle
•Experience integrating REST APIs and authentication systems
•Experience debugging, profiling, and optimizing mobile applications
•Solid understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and platform conventions
•Experience using Git in a collaborative development environment
•Ability to work independently and make informed technical decisions
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to collaborate at least 3 hours daily with team members in Spokane, Washington, USA; applicants outside the U.S. must be available at least 3 hours each day during U.S. Pacific Time afternoons
Nice to have
•Experience with Expo and its ecosystem
•Publishing applications to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
•Implementing push notifications, deep linking, and background services
•Working with WebSockets or other real-time technologies
•Familiarity with mobile analytics, crash reporting, and monitoring platforms
•Writing automated tests for React Native applications
•Familiarity with native iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin) development
•Experience with AWS-backed applications
•Passion for gaming, gaming communities, or consumer social platforms

•This is a founding Mobile Engineering role
•Equity may be included as part of the total compensation package
