About the Role
We are looking for a Python Developer to join an R&D team at the third-largest ERP provider for small and mid-sized manufacturing companies in the DACH region. The team is building an AI-based business intelligence and analytics platform, together with the data foundation underneath it. The data foundation brings business data from ERP systems into a modern cloud data platform — a data lake on AWS, a semantic layer that describes business objects, processes and a business glossary, and a fast analytical database.
Tasks
You will build the backend services, data pipelines and tooling behind this, and help connect the data to the AI agents and MCP servers that use it.
Requirements
•The ability to turn ideas into reliable backend solutions using AI coding agents: define implementation plans, guide execution, and critically review, test and improve the results, with enough Python proficiency to understand and take ownership of the code
•Initiative, creativity and ownership: you contribute your own ideas, challenge assumptions constructively and drive solutions from initial concept through implementation and validation
•Solid Python skills and experience with APIs, web services and backend development
•Good SQL and data modelling skills, and an understanding of what the data means and how it will be used
•Hands-on experience building with LLMs or AI agents
•Clear, proactive communication in English
Nice to Have
•A data science or analytics background
•DevOps and cloud experience (Docker, CI/CD, AWS, Kubernetes/OpenShift) and taking prototypes to reliable production
•Experience with lakehouse or data-catalog technologies such as Apache Iceberg, Parquet, ClickHouse or OpenMetadata
•Experience building MCP servers, agent tools, retrieval or structured-output features
•ERP or manufacturing domain knowledge, or experience with BI or analytics products
Conditions
•Work in a company with more than ten years of experience in the IT sector working with high-performing development teams
•You decide the work model – hybrid work and flexible work hours
•Yearly training budget – access to the world's largest education site and internal trainings, workshops
•Flexible health insurance policy with compensation for sports activities, recreation, etc.
•Regular performance reviews and transparent remuneration system
•Performance evaluation system with clear skill evaluation
•Referral program
•Mentoring program for knowledge expansion and experience
•Events with guest speakers and meetups for learning and know-how sharing
•Quarterly team building events
•Community sports challenges – running, walking, cycling, table tennis
•Regular events and parties
•Gifts on birthdays, weddings or childbirth occasions
•Office with great location and free parking, Friday lunches, healthy snacks and celebrations
•Gross salary: 2900-4200 EUR/month (open to discussing a different salary based on skills and competencies)
