Betby provides a sportsbook featuring risk management and omnichannel support to players across multiple markets. Its Risk-Management Product Group develops risk management tools and back-office pages used by internal risk managers and external operator clients to manage sportsbook risk.
Responsibilities
•Develop and maintain high-load backend services using Python (asyncio)
•Design, support, and optimize microservice architecture components
•Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision-making
•Implement integrations with Kafka, RabbitMQ, and internal RPC services
•Refactor and improve existing services for scalability, reliability, and performance
•Write functional and integration tests to ensure system stability
•Collaborate with developers, QA, analysts, and product teams
•Contribute to code reviews and knowledge sharing
Requirements
•Python 3.11 and 5+ years of professional experience
•Strong hands-on experience with asyncio and asynchronous programming; 3+ years preferred
•Experience with microservice architecture, REST API, and RPC
•Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures
•Good understanding and practical application of SOLID, DRY, KISS, and YAGNI principles
•Experience designing internal libraries, SDKs, or shared components
•Experience with Pydantic v2 and stream processing
•Solid understanding of RPC, including designing RPC servers, request/response, retries, and correlationId
•Experience with Kafka consumer groups, delivery guarantees, schema design, and defining optimal partitioning strategies
•Experience with RabbitMQ, including RPC, pub/sub, DLX, and retries
•Experience with MongoDB indexes, configs, and transactions
Nice to have
•Experience in fintech, betting, or trading
•Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Docker, Kubernetes, GraphQL (Ariadne), or ClickHouse
•CI/CD setup experience
