About
FX Digital is a specialist Connected TV agency, providing a wide range of services, including Product Strategy, Design, Engineering, and Test Automation. We partner with global streaming brands such as Discovery+, BritBox, ATP Media, ITV, and Dyn. Owns end-to-end delivery on complex or multi-workstream projects: planning, RAID, budgets, forecasting, margin and change control, anticipating risk before it's raised.
Responsibilities
•Planning - build integrated plans across workstreams, manage the cross-workstream critical path, and model scenarios to support decisions.
•Risk & RAID - anticipate systemic risk across workstreams and drive mitigation across teams; keep RAID decision-ready, so it's used as the source of truth in client and leadership reviews.
•Change control - run change control across your projects, taking every CR through approval.
•Agile & continuous delivery - tailor the agile approach across workstreams; use delivery metrics to forecast and spot risk early.
•Releases - work with Engineering to move projects towards continuous delivery (feature flags, automated release gates, frequent small releases), balanced against client approval and CTV platform certification.
•Product Owner role - act as Product Owner on smaller, less complex projects with no dedicated Product Manager, owning the backlog, prioritisation and acceptance criteria; judge when a dedicated Product Manager is needed instead.
•Delivery KPIs - keep schedule and cost variance, RAG-red weeks and project lifecycle sign-offs on track against department targets across complex portfolios.
•Budgets, forecasting & margin - own budgets, forecasting and margin across larger or concurrent projects, protecting margin proactively.
•Cadence - monitor weekly, re-forecast at least fortnightly, and flag any margin variance across all your projects.
•CR estimates - estimate change requests with the team before any commitment is made to the client.
•Time & overtime - track time accurately and follow the overtime request process where applicable.
•Forecast accuracy - keep forecast accuracy at or above the department KPIs.
•Client relationship management - act as the trusted senior contact for client stakeholders, building trust-based relationships and leading difficult conversations and negotiations unsupported.
•Status communication - keep client and internal senior stakeholders informed with proactive, consistent status updates across workstreams.
•Issue & defect communication - communicate issues, defects and bugs proactively, factually and promptly, including unwelcome news to senior stakeholders, always with options.
•Technical translation - frame technical trade-offs for senior or executive stakeholders, and challenge technical recommendations that don't serve the client outcome.
•Client feedback - seek regular client feedback across your projects and act on it, keeping client satisfaction at or above the department target and adopting a 'yes, but' approach where required.
•Tools & reporting - champion best practice across the team's tools.
•Innovation & continuous improvement - introduce new practices and tools on your projects, measure the results and share them; drive process improvement beyond your own projects.
•AI & new tools - lead adoption of FX-approved AI and automation tools across your workstreams, within FX tooling and client data policies.
•Team leadership & mentoring - formally mentor and/or manage junior colleagues and set the team culture on your projects, building a psychologically safe, accountable environment.
•Stakeholder management - resolve competing priorities between senior client and internal stakeholders without escalation (e.g. launch date vs stability, extra scope vs budget).
•Account growth - actively shape and pitch expansion opportunities, starting from what the client is trying to achieve.
•Impact assessments - own impact assessments for new or expanded scope, including delivery approach, risk and resourcing, and present them to the Commercial Team and client where applicable.
Requirements
•Judgement under pressure - consistently acts as a Project Leader, not a coordinator: anticipates problems before they land, brings solutions and a recommendation, makes the call on difficult trade-offs, and stays composed under pressure.
•Ownership - anticipates slippage; holds team and self to the same standard.
•Strategic thinking - shapes delivery approach and planning decisions; anticipates future account needs.
•Communication - reads senior and executive audiences and adapts the message in the moment.
•Candour - delivers unwelcome news to senior stakeholders, with options.
•Innovation mindset - actively looks for new practices and technology that improve delivery, and tests them rather than waiting for others to.
•Learning - shares what they learn across the department.
•Collaboration - creates an environment where mistakes are raised without blame.
•Influence - influences without authority across disciplines and senior stakeholders.
•5-8 years leading complex or concurrent delivery, with demonstrated mentoring and/or management of other PMs, or equivalent demonstrated capability.
