Quantum Systems

Production Quality Technician (m/f/d)

In short

This role manages operational quality directly on the shop floor of a drone (UAS/eVTOL) manufacturer, analyzing quality deviations, developing defect catalogs and in-process tests, and training production staff. It requires completed technical vocational training (e.g. mechatronics, electronics, aircraft mechanics, industrial mechanics, model making), professional experience in production or quality assurance, and strong technical understanding of mechanical and electronic systems. Structured problem-solving (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa) and fluent German and English communication are expected. The company develops small unmanned aerial systems for defense, security and commercial customers across Europe.

About the Role
As a Production Quality Technician (m/f/d) you are part of our Quality Assurance team and are responsible for operational quality directly in our production. Your focus is on quality during the production process. You are present directly on the shop floor, analyze quality deviations, develop suitable tests and defect patterns, and support our production staff in reliably meeting quality requirements. Together with Production, Engineering and Quality, you develop technical solutions, improve test and production processes, and ensure that insights from quality deviations flow sustainably back into our production. You work closely with our Quality Control Technicians, who are responsible for our Incoming and Outgoing Inspections. Together you ensure a continuous quality process from goods receipt through production to the finished product.
What is your Day to Day Mission
•You are the direct Quality contact on the shop floor and support our production staff with quality-related and technical questions.
•You analyze quality deviations and develop defect patterns, defect catalogs and visual quality standards for our production.
•You train and qualify production staff on quality requirements, defect patterns, test methods and new quality processes.
•You develop, together with Production and Engineering, suitable in-process tests, defect tests and quality gates and integrate them into the production workflow.
•You support root-cause analyses, reproduce defects in a targeted way and develop technical solution and prevention measures together with the relevant teams.
•You optimize existing production and test processes with the goal of detecting defects earlier, avoiding recurring defects and increasing process stability.
•You translate insights from quality deviations into test instructions, defect catalogs, trainings and quality standards, and anchor these sustainably in production.
•You work closely with our Quality Control Technicians and ensure continuous information flow between Incoming Inspection, Production Quality and Outgoing Inspection.
What you bring to the team
•You have completed a technical vocational training, for example in mechatronics, electronics, aircraft mechanics, industrial mechanics, model making or a comparable technical field.
•You bring professional experience in production, quality assurance, testing, assembly or a comparable technical production environment.
•You have a strong technical understanding of mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and assemblies and enjoy getting to the bottom of technical defects.
•You can confidently read and apply technical drawings, circuit diagrams, specifications as well as work and test instructions.
•You are familiar with common measuring, testing and diagnostic tools and can use them specifically for tests and defect analyses.
•Problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5-Why and Ishikawa are not foreign words to you, and you approach defect analyses in a structured way.
•You understand production processes and have a good sense of where defects arise and how they can be sustainably avoided through suitable tests or process improvements.
•You can communicate technical and quality-related relationships clearly and enjoy training colleagues and sharing your knowledge.
•You work independently and solution-oriented, enjoy being directly at the product, and combine a hands-on mentality with a high quality awareness.
•Through your open, communicative and competent demeanor, you are easily perceived as a Quality contact and technical sparring partner.
•You ideally bring a strong affinity for UAVs as well as aviation and aerospace.
•Communication in German and English is a matter of course for you.
