Responsibilities
•Ensure production systems are available, scalable, performant, and operate as expected for external and internal users
•Advocate for SRE principles and engineering excellence
•Ensure infrastructure and tooling meet security standards, and drive security initiatives and best practices
•Design and implement disaster recovery and resilience strategies
•Provide visibility into system health and performance across teams
•Enable effective debugging, alerting, and incident response
•Provide infrastructure and self-service tooling to create efficient developer workflows and support best practices
Requirements
•5+ years of experience building and operating production systems at scale, focused on reliability, scalability, and performance
•Deep experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and networking concepts, including VPCs, routing, load balancing, and DNS
•Ability to design secure and resilient systems and understand cost efficiency and trade-offs between performance, reliability, and cost
•Proficiency in container orchestration and hands-on experience designing, operating, and scaling Kubernetes clusters in production
•Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform, and designing reusable, maintainable infrastructure modules
•Proficiency with configuration management and packaging tools such as Helm
•Knowledge of modern deployment practices, including GitOps workflows, Argo CD, and CI/CD systems such as GitLab CI
•Experience building and operating observability systems and understanding metrics, logging, and tracing
•Familiarity with incident management processes and tools such as PagerDuty, and ability to support triaging and resolving production incidents
•Experience designing and building shared infrastructure or internal platforms used by other engineering teams
•Living in the Netherlands
Nice to have
•Experience with Datadog and Sentry
•Understanding of platform engineering principles such as self-service, golden paths, and standardisation
•A product-oriented mindset, and experience collaborating with engineering teams to co-create solutions, gather feedback, and drive adoption of platform tools and practices
