About the Role
At Mootiva, we are recruiting a Senior Platform Engineer to take on a highly responsible technical role in the evolution and operation of a software development platform and its CI/CD ecosystem. We are looking for a senior, hands-on professional with a strong sense of ownership who can ensure that development teams have secure, reliable and efficient tools, processes and platforms to deliver high-quality software.
Responsibilities
•Manage and evolve the CI/CD ecosystem, including shared GitLab CI/CD templates, builder images, pipelines for different technology stacks and Maven configurations
•Administer and improve the DevOps toolchain, including GitLab, CI runners, build agents, artifact repositories, code quality and observability tools
•Operate Jira and Confluence platforms on Amazon EKS
•Integrate security and quality controls into CI/CD pipelines
•Implement and maintain Software Composition Analysis, SBOM, vulnerability management, secrets detection and quality gate practices
•Support development teams with platform-related requests and technical troubleshooting
•Maintain engineering metrics platforms and their dashboards
•Ensure platform reliability and continuity through backups, disaster recovery, restore tests and maintenance activities
•Participate in incident management and root cause analysis processes
•Create technical documentation, deliver training sessions and produce regular reporting
•Mentor other engineers and contribute to sharing engineering best practices
•Work with technology vendors on the evolution of the solutions in use
Requirements
•8 or more years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Software Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering or similar fields
•Solid experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines and software development platforms
•Preferred experience with GitLab CI/CD
•Advanced knowledge of Git and Linux, particularly RHEL or Rocky Linux
•Scripting experience with Bash and Python
•Experience with Infrastructure as Code, using Terraform and Ansible
•Solid knowledge of containers and orchestration, including Docker, Podman and Kubernetes
•Experience with the Java ecosystem and Maven, including POMs, plugins and release processes
•Knowledge of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL and Amazon RDS
•Good knowledge of SQL, including its use in ETL processes and dashboards
•Regular experience using AI coding assistants
•Knowledge of AWS
•Experience or solid knowledge of DevSecOps practices, software supply chain security and vulnerability management
•Knowledge of authentication and secure secrets management
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
•Native-level Portuguese
•Good professional command of written and spoken English
•A strong sense of responsibility, proactivity and ability to work in a team
•Good communication, adaptability and continuous learning skills
Nice to Have
•Experience with artifact management, code quality and Software Composition Analysis tools, such as Nexus Repository, SonarQube or Dependency-Track
•Experience with Amazon EKS and Helm
•Knowledge of Identity & Access Management tools, such as Okta, SAML SSO or Teleport
•Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus or Loki
•Knowledge of virtualization platforms, such as Proxmox or other hypervisors
•Knowledge of networking, including DNS, TLS/PKI, reverse proxies, WAF and VPN
•Experience developing internal tools
•Relevant certifications in areas such as Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, GitLab, RHCSA or ITIL 4
