Responsibilities
•Maintain, support, and monitor the existing network infrastructure, including site connectivity, core and wireless networks, and SASE infrastructure
•Deliver SASE connectivity across more than 20 offices, data centres, and Azure, working with the SASE partner on design and implementation
•Support management and the wider team in improving key systems and processes
•Maintain the stability and performance of data centre networks and office satellite sites
•Monitor, maintain, and support networks and software to ensure stability and compliance with technology standards
•Manage corporate and guest Wi-Fi across the business
•Perform maintenance, including patch and upgrade installations, while maintaining production availability
•Maintain the SD-WAN solution and SASE modules, including firewall, web filter, and CASB
•Take accountability for allocated project actions, technical problems, and incidents
•Detect events, resolve or escalate them, and conduct root cause analysis and remediation as required
•Monitor system availability, performance, capacity, and trends against baseline metrics
•Use monitoring and event tools to support system stabilisation and lifecycle management
•Develop in-depth knowledge of supported systems and applications and transfer knowledge to junior staff
•Assess security status and apply vulnerability mitigations
•Liaise with internal and external partners, user groups, technical IT consultants, and project managers
•Keep technical documents and policies accurate, up to date, and followed
•Support architecture and project delivery teams with continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure and services
•Contribute to the firm's security posture and ensure new implementations are secure
•Develop skills through the training programme and mentor junior team members, acting as an escalation point for difficult issues
•Resolve issues and incidents in a timely manner in line with ITIL best practices
•Conduct technical peer reviews of proposed changes
•Participate in Change Management Board meetings and manage infrastructure changes
•Ensure services are appropriately licensed and help management track and cost license and certificate renewals
•Review logs, monitoring solutions, and alerts to help keep IT systems and services available, performant, and secure
Requirements
•5+ years of hands-on experience working as part of a network delivery team
•Experience in change management and scheduling
•Understanding of infrastructure technology and protocols
•Networking knowledge and qualifications
•Experience with HPE ProCurve, Aruba, or FlexFabric
•Knowledge and experience with FortiGate, including SD-WAN
•Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Networking, including vNet, Peering, S2S and P2S VPN, Express Route, Azure Firewalls, network security, traffic routing, and shaping
•Knowledge and understanding of voice/video and QoS
•Strong communication skills, including explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
•Ability to quickly arbitrate, prioritise, and filter change and deployment issues to identify solutions
