Internship Fraud Operations at ING
Who are we?
In an increasingly digitalizing world, fraud and cybercrime are unfortunately on the rise. ING's Fraud Service Center works daily to protect customers from fraud and to limit its consequences as much as possible.
If customers do become victims of fraud or abuse, we do everything we can to help them quickly and expertly. Together we work on a safe banking environment for our customers and for ING.
What do we offer?
During this work-placement internship you get a unique look into the world of fraud, financial crime and customer protection within one of the largest banks in the Netherlands.
Within our department we handle system-driven fraud alerts and investigate signals that may indicate fraud, scams or abuse. The fraud patterns we encounter are becoming increasingly complex, so no day is the same.
During your internship:
•You learn how fraud investigations are carried out within ING.
•You are trained in one or more fraud processes.
•You take part in the daily work and team meetings.
•You work together with experienced colleagues and other interns.
•You receive guidance from a dedicated internship supervisor who supports you in your development, assignments and research for your studies.
In addition we offer:
•A challenging and educational internship within a socially relevant environment.
•An attractive internship allowance.
•An informal working atmosphere with many young and enthusiastic colleagues.
•Room to develop yourself both personally and professionally.
What does the internship look like?
For 2027 (starting from January / February 2027) we have places for several interns within different parts of our fraud department.
The internship consists of:
•Four days a week working at our office in Leeuwarden.
•One day a week working on study assignments or research for your studies.
This is explicitly a work-placement internship (meewerkstage). You combine carrying out work with assignments from your study program. A graduation internship in which you do not actively participate in the team is therefore not possible.
Who are you?
You are curious, eager to learn and get energy from solving complex problems. You dare to ask questions, take initiative and find it interesting to learn more about fraud, risks and customer protection.
In addition:
•You are following at least a university of applied sciences (hbo) program.
•You have a study background in, for example, Fraud Management, Business Administration, Finance, Integrated Safety Science, Law or a comparable field.
•You are analytical, precise and communicatively skilled.
•You enjoy working together in a team.
