More about the role
This is an exciting internship opportunity for you to light the way as a Mechanical Engineer Intern (3D Printing & Product Design) in Eindhoven with Signify.
In this role, you will work at the forefront of additive manufacturing innovation, contributing directly to the development of new mechanical features and product archetypes for our next-generation FDM printer and material platform. What you design and prototype during this internship may be directly used in future product development programs.
You will collaborate closely with our product development team (engineering and product management) and the printer & material team, gaining hands-on experience in an industrial R&D environment where ideas rapidly move from concept to physical prototypes.
What makes this role unique is the level of ownership and impact you will have as an intern: you are encouraged to define your own approach, take responsibility for your work, and actively shape solutions that matter.
This internship is meant for a Mechanical Engineer student who wants to work on the technical product design, but not on the aesthetic design of the product.
•Designing and developing mechanical concepts for new 3D-printed product archetypes using Solid Edge.
•Translating ideas into functional CAD models and physical prototypes.
•Working hands-on with FDM 3D printing technologies, materials, and test setups.
•Collaborating in a multidisciplinary team environment, sharing insights and learning from experienced engineers.
•Taking ownership of your projects, from concept definition to prototype validation.
