About the Role
Nomura is a financial services group with an integrated global network, serving individuals, institutions, corporates, and governments through its Wealth Management, Investment Management, Wholesale, and Banking divisions. Its Onyx Risk platform enables global Flow Rates trading desks to view intraday risk and P&L.
Responsibilities
•Analyze business requirements with Flow Rates trading desks and quants, and develop solutions to address traders' needs
•Develop and maintain server-side processes and APIs for the Onyx Risk system, which provides intraday risk and P&L to the Rates business
•Contribute to the platform's strategic re-architecture and modernization, from design through implementation and rollout
Requirements
•Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
•Experience as a Java developer and good knowledge of Java frameworks, including Spring
•Understanding of the software development lifecycle, version control, unit testing, and build tools such as JUnit, Maven, Jenkins, and Git
•Experience developing tools for the front office
•Familiarity with financial products, preferably interest rate products, and market risk concepts
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong personal initiative
Nice to Have
•Python, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS
•Exposure to and interest in AI coding tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot
