Junior RF/Analog Design and High-Speed Photonic Component Validation Engineer
Reporting to the Director of Optical Engineering, you will join a multidisciplinary team developing high-speed photonic components for advanced optical communications products. This opportunity is well suited for new graduates in electrical engineering, applied physics, or a related discipline who have strong scientific fundamentals, a positive attitude, curiosity, and the motivation to learn quickly in a high-technology environment.
We will provide candidates with focused RF/microwave training applied to optoelectronic components, building on the engineering and science fundamentals learned at university. The role includes significant hands-on lab work: setting up test benches, performing RF and electro-optic measurements, documenting results, analyzing data, and contributing to improved designs and test methods.
How You Will Contribute
•Perform hands-on RF and electro-optic measurements (probed and connectorized) to characterize and model high-speed optoelectronic components up to 250 GHz.
•Design, implement, support and document test solutions and calibrations for new devices evaluation.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop prototypes and products built on various photonic integrated circuit platforms.
•Participate in design reviews, document technical results, and track RF and electro-optic performance against design targets.
The Must Haves
•Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, applied physics, or a related discipline; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
•Understanding measurement, and calibration techniques.
•Demonstrated interest in hands-on laboratory work, measurement setup, debugging, and rigorous analysis of experimental data.
Assets
•Knowledge of simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, or other RF simulation tools.
•Basic understanding of high-frequency amplifiers and transimpedance amplifiers.
•Knowledge of vector network analyzers.
•Knowledge of high-speed opto-electronic devices such as modulators and photodetectors.
•Knowledge of digital modulation principles and communication techniques.
Pay Range
The annual pay range in Quebec City is C$68,500 - C$110,800.
