InPost UK

Head of HR Services

In short

This role owns HR operations across the UK and Ireland — payroll, HR systems and HR service delivery — for InPost UK, a fast-growing out-of-home parcel delivery and logistics business. It leads a HR Services team of about 20 people, manages high-volume payroll for shift, hourly and salaried staff, and drives a two-year HRIS transformation. It demands strong UK payroll and employment law expertise, NMW compliance experience, and a background in simplifying multiple payrolls after acquisitions, ideally including SAP and logistics/retail/shift-based operations.

About the role
InPost UK&I is looking for a Head of HR Services to join the P&C Leadership Team. You will own HR operations across the UK and Ireland: payroll, HR systems and HR service delivery.
We run several payrolls inherited through acquisition, with a lot of manual work. You will keep pay accurate and on time, then simplify and automate how it is done, and lead HR Services through our HRIS transformation over the next two years.
What you'll be doing
•Lead the team. Manage and develop HR Services, c.20 people. Run payroll. Deliver accurate, timely and compliant pay for front-line shift and hourly colleagues and for business support teams. Reduce the number of payrolls and replace manual processes with automated ones.
•Stay compliant. Own National Minimum and Living Wage compliance and audits, and make sure payroll and HR practices meet UK employment law.
•Deliver the HRIS roadmap. Work with IT and vendors on the HRIS transformation, and make sure HRIS, payroll and time and attendance systems work together.
•Improve the HR service. Provide a scalable service for the UK&I with clear SLAs, good data and reporting, and manage the budget and suppliers.
•Lead projects and report. Deliver HR Services projects on time and to budget, and present to the Senior Leadership Team and P&C meetings.
What we need from you
We're looking for people who are ready for a fast paced environment, get their kicks out of problem solving and can balance getting today's stuff done, whilst building for the future. We're looking for people with drive and natural curiosity – who want to do things differently. And do them brilliantly.
•Experience leading high-volume payroll for shift, hourly and salaried colleagues, including automating manual processes.
•Experience of HRIS and payroll transformation, including SAP, and of simplifying multiple payrolls after acquisitions or mergers.
•Strong knowledge of UK payroll and employment law, experience owning NMW compliance and audits, and Republic of Ireland payroll experience.
•Good understanding of how HR, payroll and operational systems connect, and able to explain team needs to IT and vendors.
•Experience leading a large team and managing budgets and suppliers, and a clear communicator who is comfortable presenting to senior leaders.
•Experience in logistics, retail, manufacturing or another shift-based operation.
We'd be particularly excited to hear from you if you have a payroll qualification (e.g. CIPP).
The InPost process

If we both feel the connection, you'll then go through another one or two stages, depending on the level of the role.
