About Polarsteps
Looking for a new adventure? We're an Amsterdam-based team of 90+ (and counting) with 25+ nationalities amongst us. We want to change the way people travel, and that's exactly what we're doing with the travel app to plan, track, and relive trips in a smart and beautiful way. Polarsteps has over 20 million users already, but, for us, this is just the beginning.
Your expedition: Frontend Engineering at Polarsteps
We're a small team, doing big things. We care a lot about providing a seamless, top-quality user experience for every one of our travelers — this has got us ratings of 4.8 and 4.7 on the app stores, where we've been featured multiple times. We've also been mentioned in two of Apple's WWDC keynote speeches, and Google created a video about us. The impact you can make from day one is huge, with everything you ship affecting more than 23 million users. We believe in giving our team members the freedom they need to craft to perfection while encouraging a practical mindset to avoid under- or over-engineering mishaps.
Your itinerary (day-to-day)
•Work on all things at the forefront of our beautiful and complex web app, and create new features that will impact millions of users
•Help our Product team by creating prototypes and sharing your knowledge
•Build fun internal tools like our teleporter
•Take part in daily interactions with product managers, designers, other engineers, and the rest of our team — we believe in a deeply collaborative environment
•Proactively improve the resiliency, maintainability, and scalability of our platform, addressing technical debt when needed or, even better, preventing it when it makes sense
