Job Details
Cencora is building a modern learning organization to help our people build the skills, knowledge, and leadership capabilities that move Cencora forward. The Director, Learning Measurement, Evaluation & Reporting will build the capability that shows whether our learning experiences are working and how to make them better.
This leader will help us understand what people learn, retain, and apply, what behaviors change, and how learning supports business priorities. In year one, the defining work is standing up a simple, consistent measurement model, automating data collection and reporting, and building the learning investment view that shows leaders where dollars go and what they return.
This is a highly visible role, partnering across Talent Insights, Workforce Experience Management (WXM), Finance, Learning Technology, HR Technology, and business teams. We want a builder, systems thinker, connector, and active learner excited about using data, AI, and automation to make learning operations smarter, simpler, and more impactful.
Responsibilities
Measure What Matters
•Set a consistent approach to measuring effectiveness across on-demand, live, virtual, blended, and experiential learning.
•Define standards connecting learning objectives to knowledge, retention, application, behavior change, and performance.
•Partner with instructional designers and learning leaders to embed evaluation, assessment, and learner feedback into experiences from the start.
Turn Measurement Into Action
•Use learning data, assessments, and feedback to identify what's working and where to improve.
•Advise portfolio leaders on refining assets, programs, modalities, and learner journeys.
•Tell clear stories, knowing which finding will change a leader's mind, and shift the conversation from "How much learning did we deliver?" to "What changed because of it?"
Build the Learning Operating Rhythm
•Establish common reporting standards, scorecards, dashboards, and cadences across Cencora University.
•Lead a quarterly learning impact review for executive sponsors that brings program effectiveness, learner outcomes, capability progress, and investment into one story.
•Give business unit L&D teams shared standards, templates, playbooks, and reporting support so they can tell consistent, credible stories.
•Create executive-ready reporting that highlights trends, implications, and actions, not just numbers.
Steward the Learning Investment
•Create visibility into investments across programs, content, vendors, and platforms, and the value they deliver.
•Partner with Finance to monitor spend, identify variances, and inform investment decisions.
•Document efficiencies from transformation work (platform consolidation, shared services, automation) so savings are credible and defensible.
Reimagine Learning Operations Through AI & Automation
•Automate data collection, reporting, analysis, and recurring operational work.
•Use AI to synthesize feedback, surface themes, and speed reporting; experiment with emerging capabilities and keep asking "What could we do differently?"
Connect the Dots Across Cencora
•Partner with Talent Insights and WXM to connect learning measurement with skills, talent, workforce, and employee experience data.
•Partner with Learning Technology and HR Technology so learning data is captured consistently and connected to broader talent data.
•Help leaders see the links between learning, capability, behavior, employee experience, and business impact.
Lead the Team
•Lead and develop a team responsible for learning measurement, evaluation, reporting, learner feedback, and continuous improvement.
•Build strong partnerships across Cencora University, L&D, Talent Insights, WXM, Finance, vendors, and business teams.
•Develop team members who turn data into recommendations, not just reports, and build a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and continuous learning.
What We're Looking For
•A learning person first. Curious about how people learn, change, and perform, and invested in your own learning and in new research and trends.
•A builder. You have created new capabilities, processes, teams, or ways of working, not just managed an existing program.
•A systems thinker. You see connections across people, learning, skills, talent, experience, technology, and business priorities.
•AI curious and hands-on. Comfortable experimenting with AI and automation and turning new technology into practical solutions.
•Comfortable with data. You ask good questions, spot patterns, and turn findings into a clear story, with the instinct for which data point changes a leader's mind.
•Commercially minded. You talk about cost, value, and trade-offs with Finance and business leaders in their language.
•A learning expert. You understand adult learning, instructional design, assessment, retention, behavior change, and learning transfer.
•A connector. You build relationships, work across boundaries, and unite different perspectives around a common goal.
•Practical. Good operations should make work easier, not create more work.
Education and Work Experience
•10+ years in Learning & Development, Learning Operations, Talent Development, Organizational Development, or a related field.
•Experience leading teams in a complex, global organization and in learning measurement, evaluation, reporting, or learning operations.
•Experience partnering with instructional designers and L&D leaders to improve learning outcomes.
•Experience managing learning vendors, partners, budgets, or investment portfolios.
•Experience presenting insights and recommendations to senior leaders, with communication that makes complexity clear and actionable.
•Demonstrated use of AI, automation, or emerging technology to improve learning or business operations.
What Success Looks Like
Cencora University is advancing how we measure learning effectiveness, from knowledge gained and retained to real-world application, behavior change, and impact on business priorities.
•A consistent measurement model spanning learning activity, behavior change, and business impact is live and reported to leadership every quarter.
•Leaders have clear visibility into learning investment and its return.
•Reporting is largely automated; the team spends its time on insight, not data pulls.
•Learning data connects to skills, talent, and workforce data, so we can speak to capability, not just completions.
•Executive sponsors see Cencora University as a credible, proactive source of insight on how learning builds capability.
