About the Role
For our AI & Software Engineering team, we are looking for an experienced professional to design, build and take professional responsibility for central data platforms in Microsoft Azure at our clients, from connecting source systems to delivering a finished dashboard. Typical projects are for clients in logistics, finance and industry, for example bringing company and machine data together on a shared platform. As your experience grows, you will develop along the expert career path towards Principal Architect Data & Cloud.
Responsibilities
•You design, build and develop central data platforms in Microsoft Azure, taking professional responsibility towards the client, independently or as a senior member of the project team.
•You connect business systems and machine data via interfaces and model the data so that it is ready for AI applications, analyses and dashboards.
•You build cloud infrastructure for our clients using Infrastructure as Code and automate provisioning and operations via CI/CD.
•You implement security, permissions and tenant separation so that each user group sees exactly the data it is allowed to see.
•You contribute to pre-sales, build knowledge within the team and develop our data and cloud offering.
Requirements
•Several years of experience as a Data Engineer in the cloud (ideally 4+ years), ideally with Microsoft Azure, and very good knowledge of SQL and Python.
•Experience with data integration via interfaces, as well as data modeling and reporting, ideally with Power BI.
•Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD, as well as good knowledge of cloud security and permission concepts, ideally with Entra ID.
•Fluent German and English (C1) for working with our clients.
•The desire to develop along the expert career path towards Principal Architect Data & Cloud.
Nice to Have
•Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric — alternatively with Azure Synapse or Databricks, and a willingness to switch to Fabric.
•Fundamentals of Machine Learning.
•Experience with machine and IoT data, e.g. via OPC UA, MQTT or Azure IoT Hub.
•Industry knowledge in logistics, finance or industry.
Conditions & Benefits
•Target salary of €70,000–100,000 gross per year, depending on experience, including variable compensation based on project and company success, plus an employer-contributed occupational pension.
