Fiserv

Data and AI Portfolio, Director

In short

Fiserv, a global fintech and payments company, is hiring a Director to own its Data and AI portfolio spanning Customer-facing AI and Enterprise AI, deciding investment, prioritization and sequencing across product, engineering and go-to-market teams. The role requires taking LLM-based products or AI agents from pilot to enterprise-scale production, running stage-gated delivery, partnering on platform roadmap and client engagements, and leading a team of portfolio managers and product owners. It demands 10+ years in product/portfolio/program leadership including 4+ years leading data or AI portfolios, deep fluency in LLM architecture (RAG, agent orchestration, evaluation, guardrails), and experience bridging delivery with go-to-market and solutions teams.

About your role
As Director, Data and AI Portfolio, you will own the portfolio that takes our data and AI products from strategy to client value. The portfolio spans 2 arenas for customer facing AI as well as Enterprise AI.
You will decide where we invest and sequence delivery across cross-functional teams. You will also partner with go-to-market and solutions teams to turn pilots into production deployments that clients adopt, pay for and renew. On our most strategic AI engagements, you will be a trusted counterpart to client and partner executives.
What you'll do
•Own the data and AI portfolio across product, engineering, and go-to-market teams. Decide what we fund, sequence, and stop, based on client value, revenue potential, platform leverage, and risk.
•Run a stage-gated pilot-to-production model for Customer and Enterprise AI use cases. Each gate has clear exit criteria on accuracy, adoption, unit economics and risk sign-off.
•Partner with Product Management and architecture to shape a reusable platform roadmap covering models, retrieval, agent orchestration, evaluation, and guardrails, so each new use case ships faster than the last.
•Partner with go-to-market and solutions teams on launch readiness, packaging and pricing inputs, deal support, and sales enablement, so what we build is sellable and supportable at scale.
•Serve as the executive delivery lead for strategic client and partner engagements. Run steering committees, set expectations, manage escalations, and turn executive feedback into portfolio decisions.
•Manage delivery dependencies with model and cloud partners, including roadmap alignment, commercial constraints, and third-party risk.
•Make responsible AI a delivery standard, in partnership with Risk, Compliance and Legal. Every release includes evaluation, human-in-the-loop design, model risk documentation, and compliance review.
•Report portfolio performance to senior leadership with a consistent scorecard covering value delivered, adoption, cost to serve, delivery predictability and risk.
•Build and lead a high-performing team of portfolio managers and product owners, and raise the bar on AI product ownership across the organization.
Experience you'll need to have
•10+ years in product delivery, portfolio, or program leadership. This includes 4+ years leading data or AI portfolios where you owned prioritization and investment trade-offs, not just execution.
•A proven track record of taking LLM-based products or AI agents from pilot to production at enterprise scale, with measurable outcomes in adoption, cost reduction, or revenue.
•Fluency in how LLM applications are built and run, including: you can challenge an architecture and a business case with equal confidence in areas including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), model and prompt strategy, tool use and agent orchestration, evaluation, and guardrails.
•Delivery experience across both Customer AI scenarios and Enterprise AI scenarios.
•Demonstrated partnership with go-to-market and solutions teams, including supporting deals, client pilots and launches for AI or data products.
•Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education or experience.
Experience that would be great to have
•Experience delivering AI in banking, payments or financial services, including model risk management, third-party risk, and data privacy requirements.
•Experience with enterprise AI platforms such as OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Azure and with agent frameworks and protocols such as LangGraph or Model Context Protocol (MCP).
•Experience defining AI product unit economics, including inference cost, cost to serve and pricing inputs.
