Description
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a financial data transformation initiative at a leading investment management firm. The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Fund Accounting, Business Operations, and Technology teams to support business testing, financial data validation, reconciliation, and migration of existing financial reporting models to a new cloud-based data environment. This is a business-focused role requiring strong financial and accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and hands-on experience with UAT and financial data reconciliation.
Tasks
•Plan and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for financial data outputs from a new cloud-based data platform.
•Develop test scenarios and test cases, execute tests, capture evidence, track defects, and coordinate retesting.
•Validate and reconcile financial data, including Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, and Net Asset Value (NAV) information.
•Investigate financial data discrepancies, identify variances, and coordinate their resolution with Finance and Technology teams.
•Analyse existing complex Excel-based financial models and understand their underlying data requirements, calculations, and business logic.
•Document data requirements, source-to-target mappings, model logic, and business processes.
•Support the transition of existing financial models and reporting processes to a new cloud-based data platform.
•Work closely with fund and finance subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure new data outputs meet business requirements.
•Coordinate testing, reconciliation, and issue resolution across business and technology stakeholders.
•Prepare testing documentation, reconciliation reports, defect logs, and status updates.
•Where required, contribute to future-state process documentation and operating model improvements.
Requirements
•Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within investment management, fund accounting, financial services, or financial data transformation.
•Strong understanding of financial and accounting concepts, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, and NAV.
•Hands-on experience with financial data validation, reconciliation, and variance analysis.
•Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to analyse complex financial models and data-driven spreadsheets.
•Experience planning and executing UAT, including test case preparation, test execution, defect management, and retesting.
•Ability to analyse and document business requirements, data mappings, financial model logic, and business processes.
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities.
•Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across Finance, Fund Operations, and Technology teams.
Nice to have
•Experience within investment management, real estate investment management, or fund accounting.
•Familiarity with Snowflake or other cloud-based data platforms.
•Experience supporting financial data migration or reporting transformation initiatives.
•Exposure to financial reporting systems and data platforms.
